Marcy OMG! This morning I was thinking about the books from the servants' POV, and even decided P&P should be called Longbourn--after considering various permutations of "Downstairs with Jane."

While I love Alexander McCall's books, I cannot see anyone doing a modern Emma any better than Clueless, which IMO was brilliant!

Soobee72 I'm also interested in seeing how those turn out. I think Curtis Sittenfeld (Prep and American Wife) is writing Pride and Prejudice.
