Frida Torres BUT THIS IS A BOOK EVERY (or most) CHILDREN READ!!! For children this is a book about friendship and love and that that person will always be there for you.

Cheryl Kuhl-paine Not for me. When it was read to me as a kid (8 or 9), I didn't like either character. That was even with the pressure I had, "knowing" there was "supposed to" be a character I was to identify with.

Don't get me wrong, the idea of having a Rich Uncle Pennybags was appealing, but the tree is a frikkin' stump at the end. It's hard to want to be the kid who does that.

And, certainly, at that age I simply couldn't imagine being someone who gives even when I didn't want to. I had a few altruistic streaks in me as a kid, but I had, and still have, a strong sense of self-preservation in the face of unreasonableness. (It never got me far, as a kid, since kids aren't supposed to have boundaries, but has served me well as an adult.)

Dramapuppy I don't think children should read it either. It's creepy to have kids reading a book that basically just insults kids. And they don't even realize it.
