S.T. Ashman Hi Dimitri,

I never respond to reviews, and this isn’t a response to the review itself. But I read that you have Native heritage from the area of the Abenaki people, and I wanted to reach out to help.

Like I said in the book, I don’t speak for the Abenaki. But I did have the chance to work with a Native community as a therapist, and I still have a few connections with tribal members who helped me during the writing process.

If you're interested, I’d love to share some resources that might help you reconnect with your roots and learn more about your people. I know what it’s like to be mixed race. I’ve been on that same journey.

Feel free to reach out through my website or send me a message on social media if you’d like me to help you get in touch with the Abenaki. There are people out there who care. Not many Abenaki are left, and that’s heartbreaking, but they’re still here. Strong. Kind. Amazing people.

All the best,
S. T. Ashman
