Fraser Coltman I'm presently reading a book called "Illuminations" by Mary Sharrat. It is a work of historical fiction about St. Hildegard von Bingen, an 11th century nun. I'm not sure that the author is actually a Christian, but the book is an interesting attempt to imagine this woman's life. She was an anchorite, a nun who lived in complete seclusion. She did not choose the life for herself, but was given up to it by her mother at 8 years of age. As she grew up, Hildegard became renowned for her writings on Scripture, her visions, and her appreciation of plant life.

Mary Findley Emmaline's Gift by Brad Francis. I love seeing a contemporary fantasy that deals with real-world issues we face today in our spiritual battles. http://www.amazon.com/Emalines-Gift-C...

During a family picnic, Jessica Britton’s well-ordered world is slammed against a brutal reality and her faith is tested when her mom is kidnapped, her dad is shot, and authorities can find no clues to begin their investigation. Jessica’s own anxiety and fear for her mother’s life compel her to help FBI Agent Dan Hamilton look for motives and clues that would lead to rescuing her mom. By chance, clues begin to emerge, and the once floundering investigation speeds to a hectic race against time and criminal minds in a desperate attempt to save Jessica’s mom and the lives of many in San Francisco’s business district.

Write It Down, Make It Happen: Knowing What You Want And Getting It
by Henriette Anne Klauser

It's that time of year again - I read this book every year at this time, because it helps me dream and set goals. We all have amazing things inside us - things to accomplish and do, things that God has created us for, things that will help others and bless our own life and fulfill us. This book helps me get there - I pass it along because it WORKS. I wouldn't start a new year without it.
