I was so disappointed as a kid that the movie wasn't like the book at all. Maybe some day, I keep wishing.
I agree. I enjoy the soundtrack for sure! It would be nice to see a faithful adaptation attempted. I suppose it might be daunting that the climax occurs mainly in Ella's thoughts, but I think it could be pulled off.
When I read the book, I was really young. I recently reread it and it is one of my all time favorites. I was expecting a lot of things that happened in the movie to happen in the book, so I was surprised. I don't think the movie was bad though.
