I couldn't agree more. I love writing happily ever after and abhor cliffhangers. A teaser is fine, but not an entire, "why didn't you finish the book?"
I'm going to put my foot in my mouth because the series I'm writing now kinda sorta has a cliffhanger at the end of each book. There is one overarching storyline that doesn't close until book 4 but each book has a couple with their HEA by the end of their book. Think Harry Potter and the storyline of Voldemort threading throughout but each book has a mini story.
I’ll still read them. I will just anxiously wait for the next ones. We are gluttons for punishment, lol
