Daphne Thank you for your reply. I do appreciate your time. Oh but that is unfortunate. There are so few authors writing m/m poc main characters...its like they don't exist in the gay romance world. I think with thoughtful research a non-poc author would be able to write a POC character really well...there are a few authors who do this already (just not enough of them). I don't understand the whole fantasy/sci fi stories that are so whitewashed too...seems you don't need to be an elf to write about one. R. Cooper, Gail Carringer, Kate McMurray etc., think they are white but they have POC main characters in quite a few of their books. Diversity is so interesting compared to white boy meets another white boy. Sorry for my rant.

S.C. Wynne I understand your frustration. You're not ranting, you're just expressing a desire to read about characters you want to read about. That seems fair to me. :)

Chibichima I’m a Japanese girl, born and bred. Whenever I find myself reading a Japanese character written by a European-white author in this genre for the purpose of what are obviously diversity points, I shiver with utter revulsion and stop reading. Manners are wrong, rhetoric is wrong, names are weird. There’s zero cultural/linguistic understanding in any meaningful level. It’s just so blatantly inauthentic. So please don’t. Ms. Wynne, your judgment is correct.
