I read an advanced copy and can recommend it! Now, I'm wondering who the next book will be about. Hmmmm....
Ruth, the next book in the new series is about the Margrave of Thornbeck. He needs a wife, don't you think? :-)
Yes, actually, I thought you might have a story for him as I was reading about him. He just seemed a tad too interesting to be only a secondary character. What does Margrave mean? Was that a Germanic title back in the Middle Ages?
Margrave was a title they used in the middle ages, but I think it ceased to exist probably around the 1600's or so. Don't remember exactly at the moment. But it was originally more of a military title for someone who protected the border regions from invasion. It is roughly equivalent to a marquis or marquess. And yes, the margrave is a pretty interesting character, especially as I have him fall in love with a girl he thinks is the only daughter of an earl but turns out to be her maidservant who was forced to take her mistress's place. Mwahahaha! So much fun! (Can you tell I'm writing it now?)
