Whit Porter Olen - many thanks for this. Very helpful / illuminating. Old Knives was a 3 AM finish for me. Amazing for one dinner's narrative. Wonder how the title - which is brilliant - came to you?

Olen "All the old knives That have rusted in my back, I drive in yours." -- it's from Phaedrus (Thrace of Macedonia)...on revenge

Whit Porter Had you been carrying that quote around in your quiver for awhile? Or was it one of those "eureka, this is it! " moments? It reminds me of an old joke which is looming large in my life these days as I help care for my 88 year old Father-in-law who was never such a fan of mine apparently: Irish Alzheimer's is when you forget everything - but the grudge.

Olen "Eureka!" I was at a loss for a title and just stumbled on that line.

Great joke...
