I remember when I first discovered that my daughter was reading your books. I had the same reaction my mom had to me when she found out I wanted to read Stephen King (they didn't have Goose Bumps when *I* was young; they didn't even have Christopher Pike.) I was worried what would be in the Goose Bumps book she brought home so I read it before she did. Her dad OTOH wasn't as worried about it as I was but he never read almost all of Stephen King's books in the mid 90's. I ended up being ok with her reading them but I only read a few myself. Well after reading Stephen King's books almost ANYthing feels tame, except H.P Lovecraft, the person he says influenced him and it shows. :)
I've read these books as a child and watched the series on TV and enjoyed it very much. But then again I was a child who loved seeing horror movies and liked scary ghost stories. Even when I got scared sometimes, it was not traumatizing. So I think the question is going a lil' overboard.
I loved the books and TV series growing up- although my sister said that the TV show was trash and traumatized her...
I remember being the only girl in my class reading Goosebumps books. I thought they were so entertaining and loved them! I managed to get my female friends to read them and they also enjoyed them a lot!
I loved goosebumps as a child, and still read many books. My daughter is 12 and she dislikes reading. The only books she really enjoys are Mary Downing Hahn books. I so wish she would like goosebump books.
Fear Street was an addiction for my teenage self. So many late nights spent reading them after lights outs with only a torch for company!Added to the whole experience :)
I love Goosebumps. I read the books as a child and I still enjoy reading them. I will forever be a Goosebumps fan!
Dear lord, even today, (I am 33) I don't dare to move out of bed when I'm reading one of the RL Stine thriller books... haha ;) Always enjoyed reading them though.

Your books are what got me to read. They weren't even that scary, but there was a nice thrill to them. I loved the Cheerleaders saga and Haunted. Wish I hadn't lost my entire collection in a move though. :(
The Fear Street books are the first books I ever read as a kid! They absolutely set me up to be a lifelong reader!

Goosebumps were the first books that I have read outside of the school's required reading list, I was probably around 11 at the time. I loved them so much! Say Cheese and Die got me really paranoid, though... I refused to have my photo taken and did not want to take anyone's photo for a while after I finnished reading it.

My son (age 11) did not enjoy reading for the longest time. I loved goosebumps as a kid so I introduced it to my son. He now reads nonstop and is writing his own books in hopes of getting them published someday. Thank you!
