I enjoyed the film adaptation very much! I have to say that watching it once was enough for me, though, while I've savored the book twice and will likely go back to it again! :)
I loved the movie, though the ending with the different bit with the earrings bothered me by changing. But overall I did adore the movie.
Andrea, I asked them why they changed the ending, and they explained that with a movie, audiences don't want to leap forward by 10 years (as happened in the book). They want something more contained. I understood that, and at least they kept in that he gives her the earrings. That is the most important thing.
I agree. It was both an adaptation and a work in its own right. I think the best book to film adaptations should be both those things.

I think the movie did a great job putting your words into mesmerizing images, I can stare the scenes without blinking. That led me to read your book and I had the same experience a second time. I love your book, Tracy. Thank you.
