I still think the romance was still non-essential in these books . I could not really vibe with any of the romances cause they suddenly appeared in book 3 and were rushed. Maybe it was because the love interests felt underdeveloped to me as characters in the books . I would have loved to see all the characters developed first on their own rather than including the romance.
