Lauren Yes, I LOVE every series! I really hope you write more books in both the series'. You could write a retelling of Rumpelstiltskin or Hansel and Gretel.

Melanie Dickerson Thanks, Lauren! It is very possible that I will. I need to finish my Regency series and then I can focus all my attention on what fairy tales to retell and which series to continue with. :-)

C.M. I would love to see Rumplestiltskin too! There are so many great tales out there that i would love to see you write. Maybe The Snow Queen, King Thrushbeard, Red riding hood, the princess on the glass hill, the six swans, or the twelve dancing princesses.

Melanie Dickerson :-)

Zoë Ann Book Queen I know it's more of a folklore than a fairy-tale but I think you would write the most amazing retelling of King Arthur. So excited for the Silent Songbird to come out! x

Melanie Dickerson :-)

message 7: by Ruth (new)

Ruth I always thought it would be neat if you wrote books based off of Aladdin and Pocahontas! :)

message 8: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Dickerson Hi, Ruth! Aladdin is one that I have been playing around with in my head. :-) On the other hand, Pocahontas is a real life story that has been changed and romanticized, so it is less like the kind of stories I do. But you never know. ;-)

Elly Twelve Dancing Princesses is a story I could see you making into something AMAZING! Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and the Beanstock could also be good material to play around with. I don't know if this is what you'd consider as fairytale-material, but Goldilocks and the Three Bears,I think, would be worthy of a retelling.
I'm a HUGE fan of your books, by the way! I've read all of them (that are out anyway) and I was just telling my sister that if I won a prize and was aloud to pick out whatever books I wanted, the first thing out of my mouth would be "ALL of Melanie Dickerson's books please!"

Melanie Dickerson Aw, thanks, Elly! :-) And thanks for the suggestions! Something to think about!
