Beautiful. When I was an 8-year-old girl in Manhattan, my parents gave me a toy fox terrier named Valentine who died tragically within a year. I was never quite sure I should have another dog until my ex and I met Lulu. She arrived not long before he and I split -- but we'd both fallen so deeply in love with her that we agreed to share custody. She had two lovely lives, double the adoration from us, from our respective friends and colleagues, and helped mend the rift between us. She also saved my life, quite literally...the pure, sweet act of a god-dog on Earth. So, your story has helped me see how I can gain access to mine. Thank you.
