I felt the same way Whitley, until I found the evidence to support it. Please, I hope you check out "Flat Earth Clues" by Mark Sargent. It's on YouTube.
Ludicrous rubbish like this is becoming popular because people lack discrimination and have either forgotten their basic education or did not get a proper education.
I think it's en expression of laymen distrust of biased "authority".
It's beyond that. The whole controversy is absurd. A 5th grader can easily prove that the planet is round. Or simply watch a ship going over the horizon. What's happening to it? Is it on an elevator into the bowels of the earth?
Good point. I noted something similar- distant airplanes (vapor trails) seem to be taking off straight up- or crashing!
