I just need to comment on this real quick. Hold. On. One. Second. I'm going to lose my mind. First: Zoey is not like 99% of teenage girls. I don't know what kind of teenage girls you think exists in this day and age, but Zoey is not the majority. First of all, the majority of us don't go through guys like we do underwear Second of all, majority of us don't go through guys that often at the same time claiming to love each and every one of them in special ways that in real life, would take years and years of history to develop such feelings. If we timelined it out and took each of Zoey's loves--each stupid boy who fell in love with her, AND THERE ARE QUITE A LOT WHICH IS ALSO NOT LIKELY TO THE COMMON TEENAGE GIRL--and we times it on a scale of how much she loved them, then Zoey should actually be like fifty years old. Real love that teenagers find, the ones that you make commodities of, are built up of trust formed by years and history, love formed by mistakes and blunders and slow laughs, experiences that develop to the kind of love Zoey feels after just a couple months where all the guy had to do was look hot and say, "I care about you." PC Cast, I loved your series until by the freaking sixth or seventh book, the millionth guy had fallen in love with Zoey and the story wasn't about anything new, it was just about how many hot dudes can I shove in a reader's face in some rinse and repeat cycle that got old REAL quick. If a reader- male or female- is frustrated with how you've made Zoey, talking about how inconsistent she is-- it's because she literally is inconsistent. Don't make this a feminist thing, please.
Zoey falling for each and every guy that looks her way is one of the reasons I don't recommend this series to teens and have asked my daughter to hold off reading it. And I'm sorry but Zoey is more like 5% of teens Male or Female . P.C. Cast seems a bit touchy to the subject as the answer to the questions is rather harsh !
