Keren Thank goodness! Cooler heads have prevailed!

Ive been pondering a potential scenario for Reacher, but I'm not sure how it will work. You'd have to play with the time line as it currently exists in the previous novels. But you have Reacher in Beirut in 1983 while resigning his commission in 1997 after 13 years. So he'd have to have been on temporary duty as a West Point senior in October '83. Cadets spend their summers on TDY tours, but I don't know if a cadet is eligible for a Silver Star, so maybe the easiest way would be to just graduate him in May '83 & serve as a 2nd Lieutenant in Beirut. Then there's the whole Army officer at the Marine barracks conundrum. But it would make for some fascinating twists in the life of Reacher. Best wishes & hope to hear from you - or Reacher - for many years to come!

SusanJ Cool - I was a big Travis McGee fan, back in the day! Just read #21 and hope Reacher lives on and prospers, for many years and novels to come --
