One of the things that really stood out to me in your other books was your ability to get inside the character's head, and take me there with you. What would it really be like to be stranded on an island (with no books!) with a 17 year old boy? Or, what kind of person runs a food pantry? Or hacks computers? So, I'm very intrigued to see what you do with Annika. My son was severely autistic, and the only book that I found that seemed to describe him well was The Curious Incident of The Dog in The Nighttime. I know you'll do a great job with this character, and portray her in a way that will get us all thinking more about what it would be like to be on the autism spectrum.
Thank you! I'm happy to hear that you have confidence in my ability to write all kinds of characters. Annika, the heroine in The Girl He Used to Know is very high functioning, so there was a necessary subtlety to her character that I really wanted to capture. You'll have to let me know how I did. :)
