Susie Wang Wattpad is a self-publishing platform. There are a lot of fanfictions and cheesy romance stories on Wattpad. Nowadays Wattpad is trying to sell the adaptation rights of those works, and some of them got fairly successful adaptations. (After, Light as a Feather, etc.) I wouldn’t say publishing your work on it hurts the chances of having it published traditionally. It depends on what kind of story it is. If it is what Wattpad audiences love, and you have a large following on the site, it would actually be good in the eyes of the publisher. But if it’s something more serious, like literary fiction, I would suggest take it off the site.

Thank you, my novel is an adult Mystery/thriller and it is a more serious novel and I publish it on their mostly for fun to see if anyone would bite. It's not a popular genre on there and I know that, but I would love it traditionally published because I know there would be a larger audience for it there.
