[close] Do you love learning about the past? Do small broken pieces of rock or pottery excite you? If you’re an archaeologist, aspiring archaeologist, OR simply love anything and everything old, then this is the book group for you! You don’t have to be an archaeologist to appreciate the past. This group is dedicated to learning more about our collective past through hardcore anthropology/archaeology/biology/geology/cultural/linguistic non-fiction to fantastical imaginings of the past and/or the archaeological profession. Any discussions are welcome on interests in archaeology, favorite books, etc. Have fun! A word of warning: this group is not meant for amateur excavators, fans of ‘Diggers,’ or collectors/dealers of illegal antiques. FYI: It’s illegal to steal or sell artifacts from public lands.

[close] We'll discuss books which are set anywhere from the Stone Age to the rise of the great empires. I hope to keep that last part broader than Egypt, Macadonia, Rome and Persia. While all of those empires are fascinating, there are many more out there which I consider to be underserved.
