Alex’s comments from the Harry Potter Readathon with Reading Buddies! group.

Is it ok to share random thoughts? I am new to the concept of buddy reads, so I am not sure of what type of things we can discuss.

As I have been rereading the first book, my fanfictiony brain keeps focusing on Snape. I have been thinking about, what if Harry had accepted the Sorting Hat placing him into Slytherin, and how that could have effected how Snape's treatment of him. I know that Shape would have disliked Harry no matter what, but I wonder if he would have gone a little easier on him if he was in his house? Snape seems to avoid punishing the students in his house as much as possible. Or alternatively, if he would have been harder on Harry, because he would have had more authority over him?

Does anyone else here have an aggressive fanfiction plotter's brain? It seems like I can't read (or listen to, or watch) anything anymore, without diving into what if scenerios.
