While perusing HCPL's Digital Media collection yesterday, I discovered the "History in an Hour" Series of eBooks. Within this series was a book called "Black History." I've downloaded it but haven't had the hour to read it. :) If you're only seeking the basics of certain chapters in time, please check out this website:

I recently "revisited" Lewis Carroll's
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. While it's not one of my favorites, this Victorian classic is so pervasive. Phrases such as "Down the rabbit hole" come from this book. Also, this is said to be Carroll's commentary on the Victorian middle class.

Recently, I've read two works by author Sherman Alexie. They are
Flight and
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. Both of these books deal with teenage boys who are of Native American descent.
Flight is Adult Fiction while
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian is considered Young Adult Fiction. Sherman Alexie has become one of my recent favorite authors and I highly recommend either one of these books for the more mature reader.
