(i) How many children would you like?
Two, because I think that it would be hard to manage 3+ children while holding a job. I would love to have children, though I can't say I'd be the best mother, at least not at the age I am now.

(ii) What is your ideal first date?
Going out for coffee and pastries on a casual morning, or doing something at nighttime like stargazing or a midnight walk. I feel like a less formal atmosphere would make it easier to get to know someone.

(iii) Would you be comfortable staying at home and raising the children while your husband runs a country?
I would rather have a job for myself. I don't like doing nothing or feeling like I'm not being productive. Of course raising children is still productive, but I believe that having a family shouldn't be something that is left to one person alone. I don't want to be a figurehead. Doing something actively doesn't mean I won't be able to take care of children, just like being king doesn't mean you can leave your children to me.

(iv) Do you have siblings?
No, I'm an only child.

(v) What are your passions and hobbies?
I love math and science, and I love creating things. That's my job, but I love doing it - even if I'm not doing something for a client, I still enjoy spending time on inventions and design. In my free time, I like to read and draw.

I don't like her that much but I'm too busy to make a character that I'm emotionally attached to. I think that brain cell is out of commission.

I know, but I meant that their government (and the characters and what little culture was included) seemed mainly based on China (red being auspicious and cheongsam being formal wear)

IDK what would a good last name be? It sounds like New Asia is based off China so I guess a Chinese last name? I like "Li" because it means "strong".

I don't really do face claims so maybe you can PM me the one you chose so I can match that?

Occupation: Commissioner - it’s not a totally official job, but it’s the best approximation. She’s kind of like an inventor, but super wide-range. She can help design a movie CGI or design a facade for a building, and she loves creating new gadgets for factories and labs. Basically, she can be commissioned for any creative-design style job.

Looks: Tessa has long, wavy ash-blonde hair and piercing light-green eyes. They make it look like she’s analyzing everything - like she can take it apart with just her mind. Her skin is a natural golden, like a medium warm tan. She has faint, sparse freckles across her nose and cheekbones.
She isn’t very tall, just a bit above average height. Most of it comes from her proportionally long legs. Since her job is mostly designing and collaborating, Tessa isn’t that athletic - unless you count climbing flights of stairs to get to conferences that just had to be held on the top floor. However, she’s good with self-defense (not a specific martial art, she just started self-defense classes when she was 12) and has pretty great reflexes.

Dress Style: Tessa will wear anything that looks professional, but is still comfortable for her. She doesn’t like skirts. Straight-line pants and heeled boots are more her style. Because of her job, she usually wears something businesslike, but not super formal.
But since it’s the Selection, she does have to wear dresses. Her favorite style is the day dress with a shorter skirt and a solid bodice, preferably with a more mobile design, but she can pull off formal evening gowns. She just doesn’t like them as much as the simpler kind.
Since she’s almost always focused on some design, sketch or project, she usually ties her hair out of her face. Tight twisted buns and high ponytails are good enough for her to work with.
Makeup isn’t really Tessa’s thing. She likes eyeshadow and mascara, but mostly just wears them for conferences. She loves nail polish, but rarely has the time to get a manicure. Although she loves looking at fun patterns, she doesn’t get the chance to do them on herself and has to resort to plain colors.

Personality: Tessa is intelligent, but also very creative. She’s amazing with numbers and measurements. Give her a pencil and a sketchpad (although she almost always has one with her anyway) and she can design or calculate almost anything you throw at her.
Is she a genius? No. She just had a very good education and uses her brain a lot.
Despite her extensive intelligence and incredible logic, Tessa can be oblivious sometimes. She’s not as emotionally intelligent as she is numerically. She can lead conferences and sit through all kinds of board meetings. But social conversations aren’t really her thing.
She isn’t exactly awkward - she picks up on clues easily and is very observant. It’s just that she doesn't always know how to respond, espeically if the conversation is a) small talk/minute social, or b) personal and emotional.
Tessa is charismatic in her own way, and she likes meeting new people. Not really extroverted, but she loves sharing opinions and theories. Palace scheming isn't really her thing - she prefers simple, clear relationships.
When she’s tired of social stuff or has a (very rare) free moment, she likes reading and sketching; she really doesn’t stop with the academics.
She’s great at working under pressure and is very used to working hellish hours. She doesn’t have a bad temper, but she is fierce in any debate and can be intimidating if she tries. It’s a rare skill for her to use, but it works.
Also, Tessa is extremely stubborn. She almost never gives up and hates failing. She absolutely refuses to admit that she was wrong, which makes her a bit of a know-it-all sometimes.

Dislikes: over-the-top makeup, too much jewelry, having to admit she’s wrong, failure, limericks, people who are overly aggressive, being forced into situations where she doesn't know what to do

History: Tessa is the only child of two university professors. As Threes, they were pretty wealthy and Tessa never really had to worry about money. However, since her parents were both high-placed scholars, they wanted her to do just as well.
Growing up, she had a very advanced education. She went to elite private schools, attending a grade ahead of her age. After finishing fourth grade, her parents homeschooled her.
They taught her how to debate - more importantly, how to win. They taught her advanced math and geometry, coding and language, music and speech. She had to learn everything they thought would help her be successful.
As a little girl, Tessa wanted to be an artist. She loved drawing and design. But artists were Fives - even though her family wasn’t elitist, she knew they would never let her go down a caste. So she learned to use her art for something else.
She’s just finished her senior year of high school and while her job technically started out as an internship, she was hired by multiple companies after they saw what she could do. Which is how she gained such a high position at such a young age. Her parents had been taking her into their own projects since she was younger, so she’s had a lot of exposure to jobs and industry already.
She didn’t really want to enter the Selection, since she was fine where she was, but her parents convinced her. She persuaded herself that statistically there wasn’t much of a chance that she would be drawn.
Which was true, but not altogether reliable.
