Respect for value is great, but if you're book is in a sea with millions of other books it's very difficult to get noticed. Selling, even at $.99, makes my book visible to more people as it climbs ranks, and gives it more chance at being read, loved and respected by more people.

Amazon is amazing. I tried the Amazon Count Down Deal with my book, Mi'kmaq Song. The promotion finishes today. I'm promoting on Amazon UK. The choice is Amazon UK or .com. So far I have sold more books than I ever sold in a six month period on Amazon UK.
This upswing in sales is not due to my marketing efforts, but to Amazon's. I don't know how they do it, but they certainly know how to sell books!
