I think maybe no one else will have finished it by month's end, but that doesn't mean we can't discuss it! :D

Ermahgerd, I finished the book! Pretty awesome. I'm so glad the
(view spoiler)[Chandrian finally made it back into the storyline. (hide spoiler)] I want to poke Ambrose in the eye, but what's a school story without a foil for our protag? And unfortunately, I found the Kvothe-in-the-inn parts to be a bit boring.
(view spoiler)[Even at the end with the possessed dude killing people in the inn, I was just like, get back to the University stuff!! And then the note that the book ended on was so, so depressing. (hide spoiler)]

Oh my goshhhhh it's getting so good!!! Around page 580.

Yes! Sliding on the floors of the Crockery in his socks! XD

I am very much liking Kvothe-at-school! So much fun.

Also also, I am dying to find out whether he finishes telling Chronicler his story in this book and the next book is all things unfolding in the present, or if it will be more tale-telling in the inn in podunk nowheresville with creepy spiders moving in. Or something else entirely! I guess time will tell.

I am making progress! Just finished the part where he meets Skarpi and hears the stories about Lanre and Selitos. And now it's off to university! And I have the Chandrian chant stuck in my head. :c Also, loling about Kvothe's magical Mary Sue penis. Sounds...fantastic. XD

Hah! Glad to hear that changes, because I've been thinking, "Mary Sue...?" while trying to reconcile that with the massive public love for this book.

I think I got confused--here's a thread for A Monster Calls for anyone starting to read it! So will we be discussing that one at the end of this month or at the end of February? Help my confuzzled brain!

Maybe I misunderstood--I thought we were reading and discussing it for next month. If you guys would rather do that for January than finish (or at least attempt to!) Name of the Wind that's cool, I just probably won't be able to get the book in time to finish reading and discuss at the end of this month.

Yes? Isn't it on the book list as "to read"?

Hi guys! Maybe having a GR group for our book club will make it easier for us to make posts about our reading than it is with the GoogleDoc system we've employed thus far?
I am on page 80. Kvothe has started calling himself Kvothe again, and has just begun to tell his story.
