1. I definitely think there was something going on whether that be an affair or someone trying to blackmail Iris. She knew her picture was being taken so she was at one point aware of what she was doing.

2. I don’t trust Augusta at all. She’s sneaky and manipulative. She wants to keep Iris sheltered and withhold information from Iris on how things were before the injury. Is Augusta trying to protect Iris, or deceive her?

3. It’s hard to say, iris has no memory of her husband and Augusta doesn’t talk about him. My initial thought was she was mourning her eldest son but now I’m not so sure

4. I feel like based on the family dynamics the housekeeper knows not to converse with Iris. The Adler’s live on a plantation, think less of people of color. There’s no doubt that animosity isn’t felt by the Adler’s staff. Is it difference in status or does the housekeeper actually know things she’s not supposed to disclose to Iris?
