50x66 Andi, I would agree that the 'high school' book would be a general HS age book, or even a YA fiction and not necessary taking place in a physical high school.

Thanks for the recommendation on this topic; I'm going to look into that book.

50x66 I'm not sure if I believe this list, but there is a list of 10 best selling books that have all received bad reviews

http://www.mediabistro.com/galleycat/...

I have read a good portion of them too! By a literary standpoint they may be 'bad' but they are all so good in my eyes haha!

50x66 I was disappointed in the ending of Gone Girl as well (I read it a few years ago), BUT I absolutely loved the movie and seeing the story come to life made me understand the ending better.

50x66 One of the topics is “a book recommended from a friend.” I have a list of books that my boyfriend’s mom has recommended to me but I think it would be neat if we all could choose one recommended from each other so we can discuss.

Here are a few of my recommendations that always stay front and center on my book shelf:

1. High Fidelity by: Nick Hornby
2. The Freedom Writer Diary by: [The Freedom Writers and] Erin Gruwell
3. The Glass Castle by: Jeannette Walls
4. The Alphabet Sisters by: Monica McInerney
5. Summer Sisters by: Judy Blume
6. The Pact by: Jodi Picoult

Also; Kelly mentioned not having any repeat books in categories, but I am finding it hard NOT to repeat. As I fill out my list, I am going to put the books that repeat in as many categories as they fit- but I will also try to make sure each as a unique book specific to it. Does that make any sense? I guess I’ll see how things go as it’s filled out.

Alright, so, your recommendations and thoughts on repeats?
