Sorry it took so long for me to reply to this. I never read graphic novels and hardly ever historical fiction, but currently I am reading Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Stepeys. I haven't read too far yet since I started it a day or two ago, but from what I can tell it is told through fifteen year old Lina's perspective when she is taken at night with her mother and younger brother, Jonas, by the secret Soviet police. It takes place around 1941, and is a pretty good book.

TPBM really wishes they were eating something right now?

Love it :)

Collin awoke to screams. He couldn't remember anything. He looked around for Allison but didn't see her anywhere. Darcy came over to Collin, a finger over his lips. They were in the top of a tree. How Darcy managed to drag Collin up there he had no idea. "What happened? Where's Allison?" Collin asks, dizzy all of a sudden. Probably from hunger, he realized. When they were at the house, he hadn't eaten any of the stew. Only Allison did and Allison was nowhere to be seen. Where was she? Darcy shifted, uncomfortable. He sat on a branch about a foot higher than where Collin was sitting. "Where is she?" Collin demanded. Darcy opened his mouth to speak, but Collin spoke first. "How am I still alive? They were so close... I should be dead like-" he stops mid-sentence, his mouth gaping. "She's dead. She's one of them." Collin realizes. "You let her die. And you saved me." Collin says, tears spilling onto his cheeks. He didn't remember that what love was before Them, but he was sure he had felt love when he met Allison.
