153021 Yeah, I reread it too in anticipation of the movie, which I already suspected would be bad, but at least I got to read it again.
You should read some others. They're not very long.

Is there a good book to learn Sindarin? Grammar and vocabulary.
Or any/all Tolkien languages?

153021 My favorite author as a kid was John Bellairs.
His books are still great.

We will be reading Les Miserables over the course of three months, but so far we do not have a specific schedule."

I've never read it before but looking at my copy(it's divided into volumes, books, and chapters) three more or less equal chunks is:

1. Volume 1 to Volume 2 Book 6
2. Volume 2 Book 7 to Volume 4 Book 7
3. Volume 4 Book 8 to the end

153021 Fear of commitment, I suppose. I don't like to be tied down to one book for a really long time.
All of last year I read most of the Wheel of Time series, reading only a little each day while I read other stuff.

Yeah, that's it exactly. You have to have the right expectations. You kind of just learn more about Tolkien's other books.
I couldn't tell you a lot about the Silmarillion except some of the major evens but I enjoyed reading it.

Yeah, just got home from work. I've had enough of working for life. I have too much reading to do.
