Definitely need a link to Dewey up top somewhere. Like the new commune Mo. Always like a place before the..."
that's done and in the section that is called "About Us".
as far as i can tell, ben's done nothing with his power except change his title. he *is* a grapefruit. i'm glad you're settling in nicely michael. it's nice to feel engaged again. :)

HOLD THE PRESSES. This group is now located in CANADA??!! Nobody told me about that part of the deal, eh. ;)
"
i was wondering if anybody would notice that. i hope you understand that as a rule i'm not much for nationalism, and yet, when it came to setting up the test group, i couldn't say anything but canada. one of the other moderators can probably change it, i'm sure. i have this thing about manifest destiny. :)
p.s. i just changed your status to moderator. you can undo it if you'd rather not... for some reason even though we seem to be allowed to have as many moderators as we want only five pictures show up on the sidebar. if people click on the members link they can see who has moderator status. :)

michael pointed out a link to dewey would be useful so that we have quick reference to our old posts and topics.
please find it here: www.myspace.com/fictionfilesindex

i also spend a lot of time thinking about space, and comics, and how to retain my sanity. only 4 things can take me out of my head: baking, reading, sex, and yoga. thanks to this group for helping fulfill my needs for the first two. :)

since we're in the process of looking for more people to talk to about books, it probably makes sense for us to do another introduction thread where people who don't already know us will find out what floats our boats, book-wise, and then can let us know too. :)
i'll start since i'm already here..

i was thinking earlier about the phrase "purple prose" without looking it up -- anybody have any idea as to how the term might have come into being?

and i hope it's bacon chocolate. :P

and yes ben, please give me the prescription for love (this sentence is in no way related to the previous sentence -- i look forward to living out the rest of my life as a spinster with a cobwebby old black dress with red sparkles and a plunging neckline. :P

i even loved that crazy ewwwa. :P
and adrian, i love you and you make me laugh. :)

welcome and thank you for coming over, dear michael!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

okay, so a lot of people showed up when i wasn't looking! exclamation marks for all of the following:
bonita!!!!!!!!!!!
kris/liehtzu!!!!!!!!!!
swanny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
martyn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
pavel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
jesika!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
actually, jesika, i'm not sure if we've met before. feel free to tell me what your pseudonym is from the ff if we have. :)
once again, you guys, i really appreciate you coming over and checking it out. if we can recapture some of the old passion, it would be a tremendous thrill. i notice a bunch of you populating your goodreads profile, which i think means you see the possibilities. :)

alan!!!! my sweet lady!!!
i thought about that later, that i should make it clear that there were separate and not-touching trays of bacon arrays. trays of arrays! say it with me now. :)

it's nice to have you in dark edges! i'm glad to see you here e-monk, and hopefully we'll be able to lure you back with interesting or inane remarks. and now without further ado:
hurray!!!!!! e-monk/Matt is here!!!!!!! whooooo!
(the more of these welcomes i seem to do, the more exclamation points seem to be involved.)

everybody with the cool nickname is a moderator. i can add you to the list if you like.
and i appreciate that life can get in the way of things like book discussion but i am really hoping that you get some more of that personal time back, and come share it with us. :)

hey, i think if people just want to read a book together, they should. not everything has to be a group read. surely if they see a topic there, they can just say, hey! me too. that said, i'm not sure these people saying they have a copy of 100 years of solitude are actually saying they want to read it too. maybe you do a poll that is "do you really want to read 100 years of solitude? and when?" :)

dimish? what does does dimish mean? and i am tempted to change the spelling of it to dimmish. :)

(my welcoming skills involve a lot of exclamation marks)
please have a look around and check out brian's poll. one of the possible answers is about bacon. :)
