"Don't engage" is aimed at all authors. Whether you have good intentions or not, it's just a risk not worth taking. Stated at least as much as "don't engage" is "reviews are not for authors". If a reviewer wants to interact with you, well, that's why we all have social media accounts.

Not a bad thought, but what I often wonder is what percentage of readers actually read past 'The End'? Here's what goes in my books, and I think it's along the lines of what you're suggesting.
If you enjoyed the book, please consider taking a moment to let others know by leaving a review.
If you didn’t enjoy it, feel free to warn others, but please be kind.

I can’t speak for all of the missing comments, but for the one you mentioned, it violated forum rules and was deleted.

They are sending out 58,000 tweets advertising my KDP Countdown deal. The search function was broken for a while, but it appears to be back up and working like a champ now.

Please remember - no links

He added them to the photos section of the group, which I don’t think we want to allow. I’ve removed them.

Tap, tap, tap - is this thing on? Deleted another off topic comment.

I've Heard It Both Ways
We just finished binge watching Psych and that line was a running joke.

I released the second book in a series and offered the first book for free. I used Free Booksy to promote it. Cost was $100.
I gave away just over 2300 copies and reached #1 in New Adult & College Fantasy, #1 in Sword & Sorcery, and #54 in the Top 100 Free Kindle Books.
I sold 5 copies of the new book. Today I have sold 7 copies of the first book.

I think you should include some phrase indicating Ben is an ordinary person.
I’m kidding! I will say I had no idea of the meaning behind suckers and rogues as it pertains to corn until you mentioned it...somewhere. Without that, the phrase “roguing corn” would have been confusing. Not sure if that matters or not, but thought I would mention it.
The blurb is a good length and is interesting. I’ll be excited to see you finish this one.

That's why we created the SIA Showcase group. Head on over, make yourself a thread, and announce your Kickstarter.

Any group where people swap reviews and post..."That's a book club - they are choosing a book to read and discuss. There's no mention of reviewing it and members aren't reading and reviewing one another's books.

Please remove the links from your post or it will be deleted. For everyone's safety, we don't allow posting links of any kind.
Christina wrote: "I actually had someone comment on my lack of scene breaks when I used this method."Hehe - That was me! I would not recommend using this method.
I use the three asterisks. I do like David's use of a graphic, but I wonder if it would show up correctly on all e-readers.

A book with no negative reviews tends to raise readers' eyebrows. Also, what one reader notes as a negative might be just what another reader is looking for in a book. A review doesn't have to be good or bad, it should just be honest.

If you use CS, there's no need to create the barcode. They'll do that for you. The template will show you where it will go so you can make sure it doesn't cover up anything important.
What I do: create and download the template from the page I linked, make everything fit it, then print a proof copy and adjust accordingly. You can mess around on the screen with it all day, but nothing tells you what it's going to look like better than that proof copy.

Here's the link to the cover template builder:

Way, way off topic guys. There are other threads on here discussing your question and if you can't find one, then please start a new thread in the appropriate place. Thanks!
