Was it unsettling or a relief that the voice in her head had been a bit off. She knew it was just her mind tapping into her subconcious and voicing it into her head--or something like that. Mental, yeah, she knew that was it. She had something wrong mentally...probably having to do with her losing her garudain recently. A break in psyche, maybe? Fuck if she knew. But now she knew not only was she going crazy, but the voice could be wrong, ergo from her current standing point of what the voice was meant her very subconcious and greatest intelect couldnt be relied on. It was a bit unnerving.
But what made it worse was she second guesed the voice in the first place. She didnt trust herself. Now that was scary.
Pushing that unnerving thought aside, Keiko gave focus to Salem, to his words. He wanted her to give Ash a chance in exchange for possible knowledge and control? Seemed reasonable....right? And as he'd pointed out, she could always walk away at any time.
A laugh drew the girl:s eyes from Salem to Ash, who had taken to silence for awhile. It'd be the smart move for sure. He wouldnt have been able to get a good side of her no matter how hard he tried. There needed to be a buffer, someone she didnt already have judged. Salem acted as just that.
Buffer regardless, Kei's teeth still pressed tight against one another when Ash tried to nudge her into deciding to take Salem's deal, because afterall Salem had flat out stated Ash's focus, and thus his actions, on gaining full control of like everything. Him nudging Keiko to take this deal had to be something he wanted for some reason... "You're going into it knowing there may be selfish motives. That's for the best, right? You'll know to keep your guard up." Right...that was right. But what if he--no, not he...what if the voice was wrong again?
She kept her eyes on Ash a moment longer, long enough to catch a frown form on Ash's face, before looking back to Salem as he said a happier introduction was in order. "No doubt," she agreed, closing the inch or two between their hands so she could give him the handshake he'd been gunning for. "So...what now?"

((No need to apologize :). Sometimes shorter is better.))
Perhaps she'll still have her 'lovely' name after things are said and done? Why wouldn't she? Ohh...it was a joke--or something like that. If she was lucky, she wouldn't lose so badly in some competition that may or may not really exist that she'd still have at least one thing left: her name. Cute and clever, point for him. His light laughter and smile helped brush off whatever remnants of the rather bitch mood she was in. Once more he reached hi hand out to her, grin melting into one with even more charm as he asked if they had a deal. Wait...a deal? Didn't deals typically imply that there was an exchange of some sort.
"He probably just means that you won't be just a passer through if he helps get you some more experience, Kay." Ah, yeah...probably true...but no reason not to just double check before shaking his hand. "True," she said in reference to she didn't have to stay around if she didn't want to. Reaching for his hand, she paused it a few inches away and then drew back. "But what exactly is the deal we're making?"

Do you need any help with anything regarding this character, another character, plots, or anything? Feel like I need to do something to make up for being gone so damn long.

Ah...so Mr. Superwitch didn't even have a hand in helping Salem get to where he stands today? Instead it was some woman who'd been alive hundreds of years ago and somehow--know what, figure out the logistics to that wasn't important. "Best just to assume anything is possible." Right, anything was possible, even some crazy ass shit. Along with the centuries past trainer, the boy had a handful or more other ones? So...it wasn't like a one stop shop for someone who could help a person of supernatural abilities learn some control? Awesome. Just great. Meant Kei would have to hunt around for other strangers to help someone they had no reason to assist.
If Ash hadn't help Salem yet, who was to say the supreme witch could help train anyone well? Salem was going to give him a try, that didn't mean the training would go well. "Don't talk yourself outta this." Then again, who's to he'd even train her? Wasn't like he'd actually offered it flat out. "Because you didn't give him the chance to say much of anything, now did ya?" That was true. Keiko wasn't exactly nice to Ash thus far.
As Salem continued to speak, Kei couldn't help get hung up on one little thing the boy said. Ash wasn't thinking of anything beyond being in control of everything? Really? Really?! Of course, really. She'd called from the get go that he was an ass, someone uncaring about others of his kind considering he spilled their secret openningly as if it was his to tell. Why didn't he think it through? Because his thoughts were focused on one thing, control, power--over everything. He wasn't thinking about what impact his actions had so long as they took him closer to his goal. "God dammit, Kay. You need to stop talking yourself out of shit." But--but see, think about it. If Ash's mind is set on one think, everything he does revolves around that. His wanting to train Salem? Another move on the chessboard. If he was open to training me, another fuckin' move on the board. He wouldn't help without a reason, and that reason would be if it helped him in his ultimate goal. I'm not going to be a pawn. "Alright, alright. Then don't be his pawn. But look, see that hand outstretched to you?"
Kei's eyes went to Salem's hand as he held it to her in some sort of offering. "He has no reason to help you, and he's admit that he doesn't think Ash is just in his actions and needs some fixin' up. That hand is a solid offer, an offer to help guide you along, possibly introduce you to those who have helped him? You should take it." Damn the voice. Just as Kei uncrossed her arms and started to reach out with her leash-free hand, Salem withdrew it, a halfcocked smile pulling to his face as he said he couldn't have competition all the time. Her attention was pulled away for a moment when Tyco's leash started to tug tight, the pup having seemed to lost interest and tried to wonder further behind Kei. She turned around, walked the few steps to the little dog, picked him up, and returned to facing Salem, slowly walking back to him as she replied. "I wasn't aware life was anything but a constant challenge," she said. In other words, she was more than open to facing challenges because, well, that's all life was, wasn't it? A series of challenges to overcome? "I'm not here to try and out best or shine anyone. I'm here for far more selfish reasons." A smile pulled to her lips. Selfish reasons wasn't exactly the right way to put it. She was there for herself, to find answers for herself, to find control over herself, to become a better version of herself--one she could depend on. "So if I outshine you, trust me, it won't be because I was trying to do it. It'll be just because I'm better." A joke, not a serous statement, and hopefully he tone of her voice gave that away.

He released her, and that alone had Kei already feeling a bit more at ease. Then came his words, his saying he knew how she felt--that he understood her distaste for Ash. Another good move on the guy's part. No longer was Keiko being pressured or forced in the direction of the ultra witch; finally someone understood that maybe, just maybe, she wasn't crazy for not liking him. Standing a bit more straight, she lightly crossed her arms over her chest and listened to Salem as he described her as a bit unstable power wise. Well, to be exact, as stable as a nuclear powerplant that could have a total meltdown at any moment.
The painful memory of the fallen building of the awful people who'd imprisoned her for years flashed through her mind--the memories of just exactly why she knew he was completely right. She was a ticking time bomb, which was why she was here. Help in controlling herself and understanding more about herself, that's what she sought after. It seemed she wasn't the only poor soul who'd had a screwed up life. Salem had had one from hell and back--one that almost made Kei feel bad for thinking she'd had it hard. Parts of his life story in a quick-pin-up even had the girl's forehead crease and head tilting. Whatever divines there were had it out for him, huh? Why? Still, though, just because he was ringing bells with his speech didn't mean Keiko was ready to bite.
Actions always speak louder than words, yeah? Yes, and the boy seemed to know this. A demonstration was in order. Slowly the winds started to pick up, wiping around Salem. The sky swirled with grays as he closed his eyes and lifted from the ground, gaining an bit of awe from Kei as she watched. That's what she needed. She needed to be in control, confident, able to stop what she starts. If she opened the wells of her powers, putting them back in place would be near impossible, but Salem bottled them back up with ease as he lowered himself to the ground and the winds slowed.
"Know that chemistry teacher you hated?" asked the voice next to her ear. "You hated him, but still you learned chemistry, didn't you?" And your point? She already knew the point that the voice was making, she just hated admitting that the voice in her head, the signs of her craziness, was right. "Just because you hate Ash, Kay, doesn't mean he can't help you. You came here to find answers, to learn to control yourself...Keiko, he can help. Use him, you don't have to like or trust em. But use him."
Suck back that pride of yours, Kei. You can do this, she pep talked herself.
"I can, actually," Keiko admitted, thinking back to some of her bad moments. "Woulda been pretty awful." Her eyes veered to Ash, staying on him for a moment before she put her focus back onto Salem. "He trained you?"

*Illusion Travel - The power to travel between reality and illusions created by other Witches.
*Reality Manipulation - When he comes back from an illusion he can warp reality by making bits of illusions real, unwillingly.
*Mnemo-Retrocognition - By skin contact he will see other's memories as his own. It is usually their stronger emotions that trigger particular memories.
Some suggested ones on my part (no particular order):
* Teleportation (view spoiler)
* Power Replication (view spoiler)
* Force-Field Manipulation (view spoiler)
* Sensory Scrying (view spoiler)
I was thinking something else that may be neat is if instead of having an element that he was 'born with', his element could be the Reality Manipulation. I know it's not an element, but since isn't exactly a normal case, it may make sense to have him not having the normal 'elemental' birth ties. Just a thought :).

((I swear to everything she is not this big of a bitch always and forever. It's just with regards to Ash's decision to expose magic and everyone's attempt to make her believe he was doing the right thing when she is set in stone it was wrong because of what'd happened to her when humans found out about her. It didn't help that salem told her that she wasn't able to understand haha))
At first, Keiko didn't mind the new guy, Salem, calling after her, saying that this place wasn't just some place you came to and left. If you came here, it was for good because it's just how it was. If it was a death trap, a prison of sorts, a place you'd never want to leave, or a place that you feel you belong she wasn't sure--maybe a mixture of all depending on who you were referring to? But then...then he decided that he'd also attempt to put a finger on where it was she stood with regards to Ash's decision. He decided that she thought she knew what was best for the magical world? When the fuck did she ever claim that? What she claims is that he acted without their will, without getting a vote--acted on what he believed was best. He didn't consider their opinions, and that's exactly what Keiko would have done. It's not up to anyone person to make up the minds of everyone...and Ash thought he could--and he did do it. How was it that no one else in this town seemed to see that?!
They believed him a fuckin' saint that was here to guide them. Guide them to what?! Imprisonment by the humans who don't understand, are afraid of, and determined to harness their powers? To start a war among humans and supernaturals because humans are incapable of handling being anything but the top of the food chain because it terrifies them? To make things just...just awful. She's been around humans who knew she had powers, she'd been exposed to what humans were totally fine with doing to her because she 'wasn't human'. She knew how wrong this could go because she'd seen the darker side of it already--personally experienced it. And now this boy is daring enough to place his hand on her shoulder, telling her that she is wrong and doesn't understand anything that's going on because, what, she isn't powerful enough to?
The fuck kinda way is that to try and--Calm, Kei. You're losing it; you're losing control. Can't you feel it? Feel it bubbling to the surface? Brush it off. Words, remember? Stupid fuckin' words. Nothing more. They need to just stop. I know. But they won't. They're pushers who won't stop until you see things the way they do because they are incapable of seeing the possibility they could be wrong. There is always a wrong, there is always a right, and there is always an in between for everything...it just depends who you ask about it on what answer you'll get. They don't want that. They want there to be an ultimate resolve, for their path to have be the one and only, the right and perfect path. But you have to realize, where you believe they are wrong, they truly do think they are right. That's why I wanted to walk away! Because this is a pointless conversation. Pushers.
At this point, the poor girl was ready to smash something, anything. Why were they being so persistent? Why couldn't she just not like him? Was it so hard to believe that someone thought it was wrong to expose magic? And really, now, really they wanted to claim it was because she wasn't able to understand? Seriously? Like motha fuckin' seriously?
Kei. In front of her, a whisk of gold started to circle, seeming to take the shape of a person. You. Need. To. Calm. Down. Blinking hard and opening her eyes once more, the gold dust was gone. Heart pounding, emotions threatening to brink, she needed to do exactly what the voice said, but how could she whenever the voice and gold dust only made her more on edge and confused?! Thankfully, the one and only time she'd ever be thankful for him to speak up, Ash stepped in and told Salem that it wasn't up to them to push her into anything. Maybe they weren't pushers, then...maybe. Didn't change her opinion of what Ash done, but it did at least spark some hope in Kei that he did mean well; he just sucked at showing it or doing it. If he was who destiny was entrusting with the fate of the world...God really needed to help them all.
"I honestly hope I don't find anything else," Keiko stated, tone going monotone, her focus fully on keeping her powers restrained. Honesty, she was lucky to be doing this well--full out lucky. If it hadn't been for the years of restraining her powers, there'd have been no hope of this. But even with that...they were trying to consume her. "But thanks for the gesture," she went on to say glancing over her shoulder to Salem, trying to leave them no reason to try and further conversation with her. It wasn't healthy. They didn't understand that all of this was...too much for her to handle. It just wasn't. "But I really am just passing through."

As if nothing she said had any weight at all, Ash ignored brushed it off as he crossed his arms, leaned to a tombstone, and asked if her imaginary friend was going to come out to play or not. What the hell did he mean by that? There was nothing for him to be tagging that question to for it to make sense to her. In her eyes, it was completely out of the blue because, well, she didn't have an imaginary friend. But he hadn't meant for her to give a reply, waving his hand in the air to dismiss it. Gods wasn't that annoying? Better that way, she supposed, since she honestly had no reply to it beyond 'the fuck you talkin' bout.' Or some variation of those words.
As he stepped closer to her, Kei's body tensed up once more, her little guard dog giving off another oh so menacing growl. But before he drew too close for comfort, the wind began to pick up, dark clouds being whisked across the skies as the temperature seemed to drop several degrees. Then poof, a gust a wind coming in her direction from behind Ash brought with it a shirtless boy in blue gym shorts and hat, with eyes as intense crystal blue eyes. Heavy of breath and sweat beading over his chest, it was far more than clear that he was a bit worn out. Hard day at the gym? Had she not been as tense and guarded as she was at the sudden new face and the fact one of the people she disliked the most in her small world of known faces was within spitting distance of her, Keiko would have smiled at the joke the voice said within her head.
The new guy said in ragged breaths that he accepted Ash's offer join and stay with him, then spilled off a lot of information about people she didn't know. It was like she was catching a crash course summary on a the third season of a tv show she'd never watched an episode of. But in gist, she knew that this guy wanted to be on Ash's side, to get control of his own abilities as much as Ash had over his, and that there was a lot of shit going on in this damnable place.
Then the super-witch decided to introduce her to the new face. Salem? Really? Who'd name their witch child after a town that was known for the witch trails? Was it to be ironic or because of a dark humor? Ah, and Ash went on to talk about how outta control the young woman was of her powers. Granted, she couldn't argue against that, but still, it irked her that he talked about her lacking in control. It irked her when he talked to or about her at all. Just him irked her in general. Irked is an emotion, right? Maybe he should leave her alone if he didn't want to risk getting a burst of her uncontrolled power let loss from all this irkin'. ((I'm lame, I know.))
"Hi," Keiko said shortly, not particularly keen on having a conversation with someone who'd just dropped to their knees and prayed to the mega-witch--well, that's pretty much what'd he done...maybe not exactly, but still. Maybe we should just go? a voice said that sounded as if it was right beside her. Out of reaction, she turned too look as she replied with a half cocked smile in place, "Right?" But her smile faded near immediately when she saw no one. Crazy...that'd be the term for this, yeah? Shaking it off after staring at the place she'd sworn the voice was coming from, she looked back to the two of them. "It seems ya'll have a lot to talk about. I'm just here to..." Too...find answers? You may hate him, and that's alright. But he may be able to help you get those answers...Kei. But any answers he gave her could be completely useless. He's not trustworthy, already having proven that when he'd betrayed all the witches in the world by giving away their prized secret. "Passing through, so...I'll keep passing." Kei... Ignore it. Ignore the voice. Turning on her heel, she prepared to walk deeper into the sea of graves.
