I'd like to suggest an author named Tonya Jewel Blessing. In October, she is coming out with a sequel to her bestseller at Capture Books, The Whispering of the Willows (Appalachian Historical ). We are currently editing The Melody of the Mulberries. Don't be deceived by the nature titles, she deals with some deep stuff, historically accurate, but in a sweetly unassuming way.
