173974 About to begin Hallowe'en Party by Agatha Christie. :)
173974 Recently finished the book. I enjoyed it more than some of the others in the series. Dalgliesh's role here is in more of a personal capacity since he wasn't the investigating officer of the case. And I liked how his person was portrayed. I enjoyed the mystery story too. It is one of the better ones in the series.
173974 This was my first Lorac read and really enjoyed it. I've read one other since, and out of the two I like this better. It has more action.

173974 I'll be reading this when the book becomes available in Scribd. They say on 18th Oct. Counting the days. 😊
173974 I'm very much interested in A Certain Justice now. 😊 Perhaps, I could skip Original Sin and read that straight or read both simultaneously. I've never read two books in the series at one time, and not sure if it is wise.
173974 I'm presently reading Devices and Desires by P.D. James. I so want to catch with P.D. James challenge and was planning to read the next two in the series in October. Unfortunately, Scribd has decided to make them unavailable till the 18th of October. So it is a long impatient wait. *sigh*

173974 I too found Death Came Softly and Murder in Vienna, but not Accident by Design. It is not available in Scribd for my part of the world.

I want to get this too. It'll be a wonderful addition to what I've already got of hers. Thanks, Elizabeth.
173974 Reading A Taste for Death by P.D. James presently. Still in the early chapters, but this one looks promising.

Thanks, Judy. I checked the non-spoiler thread. Susan has done a wonderful summary there. I'll check the spoiler thread once I finish reading.

I feel very lucky, yes. It is the most beautiful part of England that I've visited.

So true, Susan. The setting of this book is a farming community and I already feel bonded with them. :) She is so good. I'm really glad to have come across her.

173974 I started reading Fell Murder and enjoying it very much. The description of the Lake District brought back some fond memories of my visits there.
173974 I somehow liked Adam Dalgliesh from the very beginning. He is one of the reasons I continued the series. He is reserved and a little fastidious, but I don't find any thing odd in that.
173974 I'm quite behind in the series and only finished this earlier this month. To me, this was the better one of the series. I didn't quite enjoy some of the earlier ones.

I enjoyed the role played by Dalgliesh in this and also of his subordinate Massingham. The story I felt was pretty cleverly written and I didn't guess the killer till the very end. The setting was a bit boring but the character set was interesting.

I was somewhat getting disappointed in this series, but this one made me want to continue.

I'm enjoying it so far, Robin. But I detect some rushing through the chapters. I read somewhere that AG originally intended it to be a short story collection. I don't know if it's true, but if it is, that explains it.
173974 I'm reading The Big Four by Agatha Christie. After reading #37 in the Poirot series, I realized that I've missed two earlier ones. 😊

Oh, I didn't realize that. Yes, certainly I'll join in with the discussion. I thought of reading the four books I found on Scribd in order :) :). That is the reason for trying Bats in the Belfry which is the 13th in the Inspector MacDonald series. :)

It is Bats in the Belfry, Judy. Read only two chapters, but I get a feeling I'll enjoy her. Already having a spooky feeling. :)

173974 I discovered her only a few days ago through a GR friend. I've found four of her books in Inspector MacDonald series. Thinking of beginning one tonight. :)
