this might be a stretch, but maybe Vampire Academy? There's no prince, but the lead's best friend is a princess and the romantic interest is male teacher, everything else fits roughly with what I can remember.

I'm like 90% certain I've read that story about the miniature village! Were all of the stories in the book kind of creepy/unsettling? I feel like the title of the book was in a yellow font, but I got rid of my copy years ago and can't remember the title (which is not helpful, lol). I used to keep it with my Neal Shusterman books, but I don't know if he had a story in it or not. I might have gotten it at a Scholastic book fair? idk, but I'll see if I can remember what it was called!

could it be Blood Brothers? I have a similar memory of a vampire tapping at a window, and I think it was from this book.
