correction, it was pillars of the earth, not world without end...i was sleep deprived in December...majorly

So it's 2009, and I did not make my goal, I'm just going to keep going and see if I can make 50 books in 2 years!!
23. The Guernsay Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (Jan '09)
Nothing but text books since then!!

21. WOw, it's been a long time since I've been on here to update it...grad school was a total downer on my reading goal....but such is life, one goal at a time.....ok well I listened to:
Jodi Picoult's Nineteen Minutes.
22. And also listened to Ken Follett's World Without End.
Now I'm reading two books, but we'll see how long it takes, I just moved and it's almost time to travel...yikes it's always something. I will probably get to 30 books before '09.

20. Ann Tyler's The Amateur Marriage

18. Midwives Chris Bonjalian, book on tape
19. Welcome to the World, Baby Girl Fannie Flagg

17. Jacqueline Kelleher's "Nurturing the Family A Guide for Postpartum Doulas" need to read lots more to finish my certification so maybe that will help me get to two goals at one, muah ha muah haha!

16. Anna Maxted's "
A Tale of Two Sisters"
It's not looking like I will make it to 50, maybe not even 30!? SIGH......

I like the shopaholic series for light reading when I'm really busy, or really tired and can only sit and read for a few minutes sporadically. I am reading her latest, Remember Me? right now which isn't part of a series but it's still the same style/basic theme. She is funny which I like.
Glass Castle I read for a book club, it was very, very good. And just like you said thought provoking, it was interesting to discuss it with others.
14. Julia Alvarez's In the Time of Butterflies
15. Sophie Kinsella's Remember Me?

I just wanted to say I really enjoy reading your lists Paula and Dawn, you guys seem fun and are always so energetic about your choices. I just love that, I have been wanting to read The Birth House for awhile, and am immensely curious about Wolitzer's Ten year nap, I absolutely love her. She's outrageously funny. If only there was more time in the day!! You guys are my reading idols, whipping through books so fast! I thought you'd enjoy to hear of someone who delights in other's readers successes!

13. Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods

11. Ruth Reichl's Garlic and Sapphires
12. Julia Scheere's Jesus Land

10. John Grisham's Playing for Pizza

you have read a ton of books!! bravo

9. Jennifer S. Davis's Former Lives in Art, short stories

8. Karen Lee Boren's Girls in Peril; its a novella

6. Jeannette Walls's The Ice Castle
7. Olive Ann Burns's
Leaving Cold Sassy

I have to say I thought this book was fantastic, but most of my book club did not like it. It's hard to say if a man would enjoy this, I'd be likely to say yes, give it a shot. But it's a hard call, people either love this book or hate it. I have seen elizabeth gilbert on oprah twice, and I've never doubted her authenticity. I believe everything happened as she wrote it. She speaks eloquently and never changes her stories or falters from the way the book outlines the events. I don't know if that makes much sense, but maybe it will once you read it. Let me know what you think of it.

I loved Last Chance Saloon, it was my first Keyes book and then it was on..I devoured the rest shortly afterwards...She is so funny, its nice to laugh while reading.

4. Alice Hoffman's The Ice Queen
5. Sara Nelson's So Many Books, So Little Time (a book everyone on goodreads can relate too)

how was alicia keyes' book?
