I've finished my itchy witch book and I'm half done with my alpha male book. I'll be back on Tuesday. So if the winning team hasn't finished their shelf yet I'll post reviews JIC we need them.

Haven't been able to do much reading over here. We are keeping so busy that I pretty much am falling straight into bed whenever we get back to our hotel every night. Lol

Gonna attempt to write a review on my phone while I have free wifi.


Shelf: Coupledom
Finished: 10/29/15
Stars: 3.5 stars

I do believe this may have ben my first zombie book. I know, I know. How did I avoid it for so long?
I waffled between 3 and 4 stars before just settling for 3.5. At times it was tedious and kinda dull. Other times I was very into it. I'm a little bit skeptical (view spoiler)[of Julie falling for R or forgiving him so easily for killing Perry (hide spoiler)]. Also I wanted a reason for what made R different from the others. What was it about his and Julie's relationship that turned the whole zombie apocalypse on its head?

The narrator did a good job. Not too annoying while "talking" like a zombie. Good job distinguishing voices too for the most part.

I'm waffling between and for alpha male.

I'm leaving for my trip tomorrow so if you have any reviews to write get them in tonight if you can. I'll try to find time to update everything. Looks like if scifi is called while I'm gone we might possibly win.

Shelf: Paranormal Romance

I liked this one better than the first book in the series. Most likely because I liked the couple better. Even as obnoxious as Miki could be, I just preferred her to Sara (I think because she was scholarly and reads, I could relate to her more). The overall plot was much more interesting too. Even the threat was scarier (the hyenas vs the lions in the first book), although why the hyenas were after Miki wasn't really explained, unless I missed it. Seemed like they were after her for no other reason than she was friends with Pack?

Bring on the third book. :-)

Stars: 3 1/2 stars

Enjoyable enough. Good start to the series. I'm not a super fan of friends calling each other bitches left and right. I guess that's a thing though, since I mentioned it to a co-worker and she said she and her friends do it. LOL. I'm even less of a fan of the hero calling the heroine a bitch several times, although, to be fair, she dishes it right back at him.

Still, it was funny and I'm looking forward to the next two books.

Still trying to decide what to read for my New to me series. I'm going to get started on my Itchy Witch book and mostly likely pick a series to start and read the second for my PNR book (assuming I like the series).

Shelf: Cover Love

At times predictable and too simplistic, nevertheless it was a fun take on "Red Riding Hood" complete with werewolves and the standard issue YA love triangle. I'm generally pretty happy with any retelling of a fairy tale. This one had a bit of a mystery to it. The heroine was shockingly naive, but the author in the foreword acknowledged that she would be, as that is part of what makes Red Riding Hood who she is (her naivete). Had she not warned me ahead of time, I may have thrown the book down in annoyance.

I enjoy this series. I was leery of starting another Dakota Cassidy book as I really didn't enjoy the one I read for the Demon shelf a few weeks back, but I didn't want to start a new series and this one happened to be up next and fit the called shelf. So I bit the bullet. And I'm glad I did. It was mostly predictable and not really original (in that each book in this series seems to follow a set pattern, but one character actually semi-acknowledged that, is that what meta means???? LOL)

But overall another funny addition to the series. Likeable characters for the most part (Nina is way over the top with the cussing and carrying on). I'll probably continue with the series, but I'm not in any rush.

Finished my cat shifter book. Jumped right into my cover love. Can't find my copy of Lover Avenged so I will probably be changing my PNR book to .
