35559 MelanieJoy, I know the end is tough my little one was a week late. I can say being in the middle of the early weeks, enjoy this last bit as much as you can because once they arrive it becomes a bit chaotic and sleep deprived. I’m really glad I took that last part slow and did lots for me because now I have moments for me but not many. Though I am getting some good audiobook time.

35559 Congratulations, MelanieJoy. I hope it is a sweet time for you too!

There will be lots of children’s books soon but there aren’t any on my TBR so I’m guessing this will make it bigger not smaller. Anyone with kids have any favorite children’s books they highly recommend? (Might as well start growing that TBR for my little boy now 😂.) This is my first and I really don’t know the good children’s books. I know the books from when I was a kid.

35559 I went in and updated my books finally and while I'm still very much behind at 47% it is better than 10%. Moving and being pregnant have not helped me reduce my TBR at all. I'm guessing that having the baby (he should arrive any day now) will also not help me get caught up.

35559 I think I just need to add my books as I haven’t added any in a while.
35559 I got mine library hold right before Uno started and I set a low number of books so I could read a long book or two if I wanted. Or move as I knew I was doing last month. I’ll probably finish before most people start as I don’t do well reading sections that spaced out. I’m looking forward to everyone else eventually getting started so we can have more of a discussion.
35559 I’ve read about the first 15% now and I think I’m starting to get a feel for the characters and setting but it is a bit of a slow world build. I do like that in fantasy but I feel like we are still meeting characters and at times getting new points of view so I’m wondering if this aspect will get better.

35559 Just finished my third book, How to Change Your Mind What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence by Michael Pollan and it was fascinating. I'd highly recommend it. I kept telling people about it and I have to say I'm likely to keep telling people about it. 5 stars.
35559 My hold from the library just came in so I’ll likely be reading not as slow as everyone else and completing for uno.

35559 I finished my first book for this challenge.
The Space Barons Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and the Quest to Colonize the Cosmos by Christian Davenport

It was really quite interesting given all of the changes since it was published (both big and not so big). Also looking at the past and what politics are today (why I picked it up), was an interesting juxtaposition. As a history of private company space travel it was very interesting.

35559 I did not make my goal and I thought I would be a lot closer but it has inspired me to go through my TBR and delete a lot of books (still doing this) so I may actually end the year with less than I started the year with which would be a huge win.
35559 I’ve had a hold on this at my library for a while now so I’m glad it looks like I get it in the next month or so and be able to join.

35559 I just finished the office book. I added to the ss, but am on my phone and can’t remember the exact number of times it was tagged. I think maybe 11. Could someone check for me? It’s called Stuck-Up Suit

35559 I think I'm going to DNF the office book. I might give it one more chapter but right now it is really not to my liking.
Nov 28, 2024 01:55PM

35559 I'm picking up a book tagged office as my next read.

35559 I'm currently working my way through The Will of the Many and as far as I can tell it doesn't work for any of the mini tasks. I'm listening to Where We Belong and I also think it doesn't work for the mini.

I'll try and pick something that does once I finish these. I've been pretty busy, but this week should be a bit slower at work so I'm hoping to have some reading time.

35559 Hi team. My notifications got turn off for the thread some how. I recently finished a book that was 8 in a series but likely someone else has it covered now.

35559 Happy Monday. It was a strange one. Everything work wise was rescheduled or cancelled.

I put a hold on The Spellshop but it looks like it will be a pretty long wait. Hoping it comes through.
