39438 While I can't divulge my secrets fully--there was once a great quote Janet Maslin wrote in the New York Times. That I know women better than Freud. I'll take it.

39438 I'd say that's a good problem to have! I keep a running binder of all the ideas I get for books. Sometimes they get used, sometimes they stay in the binder. Sounds like you have no problem on the creative end--keep em coming!

39438 Make sure that you can actually feel something in everything that you've written. If there's no emotion at the start and end of each chapter, delete it altogether.

39438 I have a new one, Middle School, which releases next summer that's sort of a new genre for me. It's half graphic novel, half YA book. I've done romance, nonfiction, detective fiction, YA. Maybe something new in the future too.

39438 I have been known to be a fan of ol' Mulder and Scully...

39438 Sure do. Right now we're working on getting CROSS made, and I think Idris Elba would make a great young Alex Cross. Check out the "movies" thread, where we're chatting about other projects in the works.

39438 Daniel and Witch & Wizard are both in line for movie adaptations. In fact you can take a peek at some scenes from the Witch & Wizard screenplay over on witchandwizard.com.

39438 Witch & Wizard and Maximum Ride have a loyal following of both kids and adults. Tough to say who's in the lead, at this point.

39438 I'm worried he might spend the whole book trying to blow things up! He's due one, though, isn't he?

39438 She'd be honored.

39438 Hi Susan, I started WMC a few years after Alex Cross. I wanted to write about something new--so a detective series across the country, and starring four ladies rather than one guy, seemed like a nice change of pace. Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.

39438 We're working hard to make sure it's just as cool as the series (if not cooler!).

39438 We're working on it now. It's going to be based off CROSS, the twelfth book in the series, when Alex is set on catching his wife's killer.

39438 Glad to hear it Jacob. I've got a new series for kids coming next summer--MIDDLE SCHOOL--and even if you're well out of those trenches it's fun for everyone.

39438 Angel sees a lot of growth in the next one, which comes out on Valentines Day. You'll like it.

On killing off any characters--now, why would I tell you that?!

39438 Good to hear, Elizabeth. Glad you caught up so quickly.
