Thanks for the info Patrizia! The places near me were pharmacies, but all pharmacies don't take expired meds. I expect ultimately this is what they do also - hand it over to a proper disposal facility. I was just lazy to look it up prior to this cleaning session, but once I did it was a simple thing.
