5048 Terri welcome to the group. Who do you like to read?
5048 Henry the VIII has 6 wives and a personal life full of scandal and betryal. Alison Weir gives us a heavily reserched and detailed account of the women that had the fortune or misfortune of marrying the King. If you are new to the Tudor saga then this is a great book to learn all you can. If you are a Tudor fanatic and have read many things about them this book doesnot cover a lot of new ground.

This is not bothering me so much but I am a Tudor junkie.
5048 It is confusing with all the names being the same. Plus Henry married 3 different Katherines

5048 I didnt think it was horror either. When the book was published I dont think Urban Fantasy was a big genere so they lumped all these types of books in the horror section.

5048 Welcome Rachel I am not a fan of The Time Traveler's Wife either. In fact I never finished it. I will think of some books. Is there any type of books you really dislike

5048 Kitty Norville is the late night DJ at a local radio station. She is also a werewolf. One night when she starts a conversation about the supernatural and soon it becomes a regular weekly spot. But not everyone is happy about it including the local master vampire and her own wolf pack. When women start being viciously murdered Kitty is tapped by the local Police to help solve the case, soon Kitty discovers a rogue werewolf and she may be the next victim.

What a great introduction to the Kitty series. I can not wait to read more of these books. Kitty's character is very real that struggles with being a werewolf and her roll in the pack. As any person might. I recommend these books to anyone who likes to read paranormal books.

5048 Kelly welcome to the group. Dont worry about missing the first chapters. When we get to chapter 19 we are going to go back to chapter 1.

Feel free to jump into any discussion thread.
5048 1 in 25 ordinary Americans secretly has no conscience and can do anything at all without feeling guilty. If that doesn’t give you a moment of pause I don’t know what will. Stout explores what is conscience and asks the question does a sociopath suffer from a mental disorder. She talks about how to recognize one and gives us 13 rules for dealing with sociopaths in everyday life.

When I look at the people in my life I realize that I have been lucky and the only sociopaths in my life have been on the fringes and not important people to me.

5048 I am almost finished with this book and I am now a little paranoid about my neighbors. I think at least one of the is a sociopath and possibly a relative or 2.
5048 [image error] The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer

January 1946: London is emerging from the shadow of the Second World War, and writer Juliet Ashton is looking for her next book subject. Who could imagine that she would find it in a letter from a man she's never met, a native of the island of Guernsey, who has come across her name written inside a book by Charles Lamb.

As Juliet and her new correspondent exchange letters, Juliet is drawn into the world of this man and his friends and what a wonderfully eccentric world it is. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society--born as a spur-of-the-moment alibi when its members were discovered breaking curfew by the Germans occupying their island--boasts a charming, funny, deeply human cast of characters, from pig farmers to phrenologists, literature lovers all.

Juliet begins a remarkable correspondence with the society's members, learning about their island, their taste in books, and the impact the recent German occupation has had on their lives. Captivated by their stories, she sets sail for Guernsey, and what she finds will change her forever.

Written with warmth and humor as a series of letters, this novel is a celebration of the written word in all its guises, and of finding connection in the most surprising ways.

This is an awesome book. I highly recommend it.
