Hey, everyone. Teresa, I just caught this by email and agree. Agression on discussion threads is a real downer. I have been so busy, I really haven't spent any time in here but I think it's time we all got back to the business of being friends and being supportive. If anyone posts, I'll make the time to answer...and I'll make the time to eliminate mean spirited jabs. Virginia, we're happy to have you here. Let's all just watch our tone and brighten each other's days :-)
Larry wrote: "Wow, I've been in one or another aspect of publishing for more than 45 years "Larry, you and I have spoken on several threads, and I know your style is a little aggressive, but rest assured the authors on this thread are more about friends supporting each other than discussing hardcore marketing methods. I currently average a little over 8 paid sales a day spread over my various titles (678 for 2012 as of this moment), and I couldn't say what percentage are generated from a simple "like" but I can tell you that I received a blog note the other day from a woman who looked me up after reading a Stephen King "Under the Dome" review I left on one site or another. In short, I don't think anyone would argue that "liking" various pages is a great sales scheme...but it sure does help to gather a lot of support and friendships. And since I was kind of hoping to gather friends as well as sales, I'll keep liking books and fan pages for as long as I'm out and about :-)

Hi, Larry: Every "Like" link provides another possible time that a person browsing might come across your fan link. I admit that I haven't interlinked with nearly as many fan pages as I should, but I always hit "like" when I see a friend's book on any internet site. Then any of my Facebook friends can see those links in my history and on my wall. 'Hope you're having a great Wednesday. Hi, everyone!

Congratulations on the success with Story Time, Linell. As I've mentioned in several forums, your book really does deserve to be on many bestsellers lists. I'm glad to see that it is climbing :-)

It's great to be among writers and readers who are so supportive, Tee. I've been a member of a lot of writing groups over the last twenty years, but the friends I've made here and through other networking over the last two years are unrivaled.
In short: THANK YOU, ALL! :-)

Rebecca, you couldn't have chosen a more helpful group than the writers and readers who have been kind enough to hang out with me here. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help :-)

Hi, Everyone. 'Hope it's been a great January for you! I'm just now getting settled into a new schedule so will definitely be a little more visible that I have been the last couple of months. Though I have projects coming out my ears, I really have missed all the time with friends.
Edwin, I will definitely be doing more reviews for you soon, but my brother has taken on several new projects of late and I'm beta reading several back-to-back for him as well as finishing up some promised TBR's and reviews for friends. Remind me in a few weeks :-)

Hi, Nel. I forwarded the group email to you this morning. I'm always excited to hear any thoughts or ideas...but feel free to be silent if you prefer. A lot of the authors receiving our sales numbers and marketing thoughts have been finding it helpful. We're just hoping to keep it alive after Christmas (since it largely has to do with my "Santa Shop" title :-)

Hi, Madoc. Email me at
[email protected] to be included in the list. Happy to have your eyes and experience on board :-)

Hi, Nel, everyone. I'm always happy to accept any information (which I would never share) but I don't require anyone to share personal sales in order to receive mine. But if you want to share or think you know something that could help, by all means please let me know :-)
Again, the email is
[email protected]

Hi, Sandy, everyone. You are all welcome to view my sales numbers and inside marketing plans. I'm excited by every new voice that joins the process. I'd be thrilled to see the daily emails jump to hundreds.
Sandy, I just checked my box and don't think I have your email, so Sandy (everyone) please email me at
[email protected] to get added to the list.
Looking forward to sipping tea in Paris with all my bestselling friends (and we'll be able to say that process started with our circles right here :-))

Hi, Everyone. I'm currently selling 20 to 50 books a day and have been sending out real time exact numbers of how many and where in a daily book sales information email to my author friends. I'm hoping that we can all learn from the shared experience. If you'd like to be on the daily, weekly or monthly sales data list, please let me know.

Fortunately, a woman in NC emailed and said she had some nearby, so they didn't go to waste. 'Hope everyone is having a great weekend. My brother and I are putting the finishing touches on Santa 2. Release tomorrow :-)

Thanks, Nel :-)

Hi, Nel: Where is your store? I should get some books over to you before the season runs out. Email me at
[email protected]

Anyone have a Carmike Cinemas nearby? I have a pair of free passes to one movie, not 3-D. Have to be redeemed by 4/30/12. I'll happily mail (free) to the first person who emails me at
[email protected]. My wife won these but we don't have this theater chain up here in Maine.

I just posted reviews everywhere for Patricia Puddle's Molly Gamnut Rescues a Bandicoot
28 November 2011
5 stars
In Australia, trouble has three names: Molly-Mavis-Gamnut…
The key to a child’s heart is often as elusive to adults as the secrets to health, wealth and happiness, but Patricia Puddle seems to have an instinctive knack for knowing not just what a young person thinks but also what she feels.
While taking photos for a middle-grade nature project, Molly Gamnut encounters an injured bandicoot and has no choice but to save it from the evil cat Tiddles who lives next door. Of course, she’s smitten with her new friend and wheedles her way into spending time with it at her Grandma Lilly’s home. But it isn’t until her grandmother and father insist that Furble the Bandicoot must return to nature that Molly’s true colors begin to show. You’ll laugh as she leaps from dustups with seemingly all of her relatives as well as the school bully Gretchen Bloomfield, Mrs. Wilson next door and even her school’s Principal.
Watching this lovable but troublesome young girl stumble from one huge mistake to the next will thrill readers of all ages, and it’s likely that most will relate to the many problems she creates for herself while desperately seeking a way to keep her furry new friend safe.
Appropriate for all ages, I highly recommend this fun book from down under.

I swear, I might have the best group of friends on the internet. Thanks for the comments, Chuck, Lynn, Patricia.
Today's sales have actually sped up a little and I thought they were going to slow down :-)
Fingers crossed that I can maintain and improve on the momentum :-)
Lynn wrote: "I hope one day our book starts to skyrocket like that..."Lynn, rest assured I too still have a long way to go. We're on the same path. My paid sales will number in the hundreds this month, not thousands or tens of thousands, and that's where numbers need to be to make a full-time living at fiction.
I'm glad we're sharing the journey :-)
