Hi Ladies - just checking in with you all and hope you're doing ok in this strange time. Please stay safe - at least being at home doesn't stop any of us from reading. I am in a high risk category so have been self isolating for two weeks now - the good thing is, I have lots of time to write.

Sorry guys - I have been trying to avoid Goodreads now I am a published author...writers keep telling me how heartbreaking it can be to go on and discover bad reviews about your book...touch wood no heartbreaking reviews yet. I will hopefully be come to this gathering. Would be lovely to touch base again...and I have gathered quite a few books to exchange also - only thing that might stop me is kid's social or sports commitments. So I will confirm closer to the date. Donna x

Thank you for the invite to the Newcastle gathering, lovely ladies. I had such a nice time and it was great to meet some other writers...to hear their stories on writing and roads to publication.

I have just read Boy Swallows Universe byTrent Dalton. It is up there now as one of my favourite Australian reads.

Oh wow! That is such wonderful news to hear. I do hope it sells. I have just found out that bookstores only give you 90 days. So my book is being released in August - that means, by the end of October, if it hasn't sold, the bookstore sends it back to the distributor and they rip the front covers off and pulp them! This is so barbaric and wasteful. I had no idea! The publishing industry is so wrong in so many ways! Sorry, didn't mean to get on my high horse. Thanks for agreeing to read it Sally. xx
