I really enjoyed reading this book,even though sometimes Wharton dragged on with her descriptions of family trees,etc.I absolutely DESPISED Archer.He was a cowardly jerk that destroyed the lives of two women just because he's so indecisive!At first,he's head over heals for May,this typical,conventional girl,then he condemns her for the rest of his life for exactly that!He shouldn't have married her in the first place,he knew the way he felt about Ellen,so I have no freaking idea why he married May.Then for the rest of their marriage he calls her boring and blames her for her "proper" upbringing(which was why he fell in love with her in the first place). He just really pisses me off,he's so weak and honestly that end just killed me.What the hellllll?!!
