sorry guys I've been swamped with midterm stuff and my job I throw something up Saturday cause thats my only day off :(

Hey guys I wanted to say that usually I wait until everyone posts so I mean if you have something to say before the next post I put up just let me know cause if I don't I usually don't have something to respond to.

As each person introduced themselves, albeit briefly, Etrius got a good feel for their personality as was already placing them into their own class of fighter and where he ranked them in his mind. He saw that Xia Mo had great potential and he ranked her highest among the newcomers, after her he reasoned that the hipster girl followed behind her in terms of physical power, but triumphed her in terms of mental capacity. Patch he just found to be somewhat useless, but he found first impressions to be rather pointless and skills on the battlefield to speak louder then any speech that someone could give. The technicians seemed capable, even that clark guy who seemed kinda awkward. Professor Oswald was pretty mysterious and he don’t doubt would be a great addition to the research team and would hopefully keep him alive when they would be investigating the Castles. Etrius looked at his team with a look they knew all too well.

“ Well thank you all for coming here today I know that many of you took the time to fly over here, many were mishandled I know I was, but that’s not the point. I thank The General for his warm introduction, but it’s time you guys actually meet the guy your going to be dealing with during your time her. That’s me, Etrius. No doubt you’ve probably heard the childish banter of my teammates, but rest assured they are most compete fighters and some even surpass me in a few ways. Seeing as how you have been so kind as to introduce yourself we only see it fit if we introduce are selves. To start we have Beacher, this guy is smart seriously he has saved my ass more times then I’ve had hot dinners we’ve been best friends since the beginning and he is always my wingman in any situation. Moping in the corner, we have Lloyd. He doesn’t talk much on account of his vow of silence of something, but he’s as loyal as they come he has never deserted me even when times seemed bleak. He possible the best CQC fighter I’ve even met as well. Last but not least is Boomer, he is are loud mouth, tough as nails demolition expert who likes making things go....BOOM. And I’m Etrius, the sarcastic punk ass who got dragged out of retirement to be here, and for the next two weeks I’ll be training you for this investigation. Now I wish for all field agents to follow me into the training room where we won’t hesitate to begin, “ Etrius said as his teammates followed him into the next room which lead into a long hallway that was lined with clear glass that showed off the sky around the fortress.

“ You see this military base is home to some of the most advance military training programs that the United States Military has to offer, “ Etrius said as passing platoons of soldiers could be seen in adjacent domes where they fought intense training programs. “ This facility is home to the worlds first holographic training module. By using some of the most advance holographic technology the military is able to replicate any combat environment to better prepare soldiers for that terrain it also makes for some fun situations between soldiers. “ Etrius finished as they stood on the other side of a giant glass dome where a pair of technicians could be seen in a control panel.

“ Now for the next two weeks were going to put you through some intense training to better prepare for this situation we’ve been put in. Now during the course of these next two weeks your going to be partnered up with someone from my squad. This will be your partner, they will watch your back and look over you I know my squad always watched my back and I want you to be confident in the abilities of your teammates and trust in them to save you. I know you would do the same for us......anyway I decided that the pairs would be as followed: Beacher and Elektra, Boomer and Patch and Lloyd and Xia Mo. Form up in the dome and I’ll be be with you in a minute, “ Etrius said as his team was trying to re-adjust to this curveball that Etrius just threw.

Boomer was eager to talk to Patch and had nothing but question to ask like how she got that thing around eye and what happened in her previous assignments, he was just like a little kid when it came to meeting new people, but he was especially happy that Etrius would be spear-heading this operation and that he would soon get to work with his old team.

Beacher was looking over Elektra and to be honest he liked what he saw not just in physical appearance but in what she hadn’t shown him. He knew that people could hid a lot in their minds and he was no different, but being any to display that ability was an entirely different thing and it intrigued him to no end.

Lloyd on the other hand was keeping silent on his thoughts of this new partnership even though he found himself relating to Xia Mo in principal. He wasn’t quite sure if he was ready to take on a partner who wasn’t anyone from his previous team. He always kept a pen and paper on hand to write down his thoughts to other people should he need communication and he knew enough sign language that if anyone could translate it he could quickly communicate if need be. Lloyd never really felt comfortable around woman seeing as he only grew up in monastery where only male monks were present he never really got to be around woman so this would prove rather....awkward.

Doctor Romanov observed as Etrius took command of the situation and directed all the field agents into the training room where he gave the technicians a two week notice on the state of the their research. Romanov calculated that it would take approximately that time to complete the research. He stared into the eyes of the three people left in the room. A little girl, professor Oswald, and the man named Clark. This was going to be more difficult than expected. Doctor Ramnov walked up to Oswald and shook his hand saying, “ how do you do Professor? I have seen your work and I say that I am very impressed with your work on ancient culture I welcome you to this research team and will find your input no doubt invaluable,” the Doctor said with a smile as he then walked up to Clark.

“ Ahhhhh I see you will be a are main computer technician, you seem quite compete my friend and I’m sure your just shocked by the gravity of this situation, but rest assured I will explain it in detail as the week progresses, until then try not to think to much about it, “ the Doctor assured the man as he patted him on the back. The Doctor then stooped down to look into the face of the little girl who stood a few feet below him.

“ Who is this? Are you lost little girl? “

The General smiled an old smile that reflected his years of worldliness as a man of military military might he could recognize a potential recruit just by looking at them he saw a wide range of potential that just emanated from this group. All they needed now was Boomer, Lloyd and Beacher and they would be able to start. Etrius scowled after getting a look at his new team members. He really didn’t like what he saw in these people. All he saw was some rejected hipster with a sword, a tin cap that had what looked like a metallic cyst around it’s eye. He saw a small girl in a dress which he was sure that ow they were just playing jokes on him. He saw a petit girl who he recognized from a assassin clan that he had been introduced to during his time in the Eastern Hemisphere. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a nerdy looking man next to profound looking professor who he figured out must be part of the research team. He didn’t what to admit that this team was looking pretty weak and he questioned the selection of many of the members that were chosen. He grabbed the General by the shoulder and pulled him into the other room as to keep the conversation secret.

“ Really.....really, “ Etrius questioned as he looked back at the team that had been gathered, “ the best you can give me for this Earth shattering assignment is some rejected hipster wanna-be, some freaking tin can that looks like a B-list Terminator movie prop, some little 5-year old girl in dress; seriously whats up with that? Granted you gave me what looks like an agile assassin, but to counter it you also gave me some nerdy computer tech guy and some stuffy professor. Is this some kind of joke? Cause I’m not laughing! “ Etrius yelled as he calmed down immediately as to not startle anyone in the adjacent room. The General could help laugh at Etrius and his stubborn ways. He was aware that this might have been a possibility when it came down to the teams, but he was prepared for the possibility.

“ Look Etrius, I know the teams may not be to your specifics, but look past their appearance for they are the best this dying world has to offer. The other members are also going to be given additional training by you until we can further scout more of the first Castle, until then you can give them as much training as you see fit. “ The General finished as Etrius grinned in delight over getting his way like a selfish teenager.

The two headed back into the room where their seemed to be a lot of tension between all the newcomers, but Doctor Romanov seemed to have the situation under control.

“ I know this situation may be a little, scary and excuse my choice of language because I myself have been put in a position such as this, but I require to know who are people who are being drafted to my research team because we we need to go over a few ascetics before the day is out. This is very important to the quality of the research we will be conducting and I need all new comers to be familiar with the kind of research we will be performing over the next few months. That is all, “ Dr. Romanov concluded as the General stepped up to the plate to give his speech.

“ Thank you Doctor, I appreciate your commitment to the cause, but right now we are waiting for a very important part of this new team......” The General stopped as the door was bursted into and Etrius’s old team came through the door. Boomer was loud as always, and Beacher ran up to greet his old friend Etrius. Lloyd merely walked in cool and collected and blended into the crowd.

“ ETRIUSSSSSSSS!!!!!! What’s up! Last time I saw you was piloting that burning chopper away from the Indian Ocean! “ Boomer said as he ran up to hug his old friend. Well it was really more of a bone cracking experience for Etrius who understood that long prolonged use of muscle enhancing had been used on Boomer during his career in the military and Boomer had developed strength 10x that of a normal human male.

“ Hey!.......Boomer, could you...I don’t know...STOP BREAKING MY SPINE! “ Etrius yelled as Boomer stopped crushing him.

“ Sorry boss I forget my own strength some time! “ Boomer said playfully as Beacher came up to see Etrius, “ Hey Prophet...been awhile...hows retirement? “ Beacher said playfully as he hugged his old companion.

“ Fuck you.......you old bastard, “ Etrius said kidding with his old teammate as he flashed a hello sign to Lloyd who flashed one back. The General then took over the meeting as to chorale the situation.

“ Alright, alright look ladies and gentleman you have been called to this top secret military base to participate in an Operation we have dubbed as “ Operation Shadow Catcher, “ the purpose of your arrival here could differ based on your background as ether a warrior or a technician, but allow me to introduce your leader to all this. Etrius. He will be commanding you in the field, you see over the course of this brutal resource war we have discovered a parallel dimension where he have found the ruins of an ancient alien race. Their resources have yet to be found and were hoping with your help that this resource crisis we are experiencing. Details with be furthered revealed tomorrow, but until then why don’t we go around the room and learn a little about each other? “

Beacher had the feeling of vomiting as he looked out the side of the helicopter. It was funny to believe that this green-headed, paranoia stricken man had been the downfall of entire nations, yet he couldn’t even stand up to a simply fear of heights. Boomer was having a blast on the other hand he he merely black hawked the entire way, hanging onto the side of the helicopter with what many considered an inhuman strength that he possessed. Lloyd merely mediated in the back of the helicopter storage area where the sound disturbance was minimal. The three of them had all been called on by the General to help with a dire situation that he briefly explained over the phone. Boomer was thinking the matter over, even though he maintained the air of people thinking he didn’t know anything he really though over the implication of what was happening.

“ To think that world would be dying......I guess I am still ignorant. You ever expect that something you’ve grown to know would be capable of ending. I mean the Earth has sustained more impacts then I’ve had hot dinners, but still. “ Boomer yelled out loud so he could hear himself of the air pressure making it impossible to hear. The silhouette of the building came into sight as Boomer yelled in enjoyment of being able to see Etrius again. Beacher looked out the window with an excited face to see Boomer yelling at the top of his lungs. He merely shook his head at his teammates antics. Lloyd sensed the presence of Etrius in the distance and gave a weak smile as he got up to go to the main deck.

The General was receiving confirmation that Etrius’s old team was arriving shortly and that some of the new arrivals had already arrived. He didn’t feel that it was fair to keep Etrius at bay even though he knew that Etrius wouldn’t be happy with the results of getting new teammates, but he would need to learn to live with it. Etrius was rubbing his chaffing hands, he had those handcuffs on for three weeks. The General found it amusing that Etrius was taking the new so well even if he was acting like a brat.

“ Well Etrius I decided that since you have most professional military training that you should head up a strike force that would be sent to investigate the area for any potential relics that we could use as world resources. Now I promised that we would bring back your old team, but we have also hired some of the best people in the business to assist you. “ The General said with a snicker as he motioned for the people to come in.

“ Wait.....wait I never agreed to have anyone new join this thing! I want my old team and that’s it! All these new people will just get in the way and make it more difficult to complete the mission. “ Etrius objected as the people were lead into the room.

“ Also Etrius allow me to introduce you to are lead researcher, Doctor Romanov, “ The General added as an old man of around 65 came in to the room, well more like almost limping really, but a be-speckled man came into the room. He appeared wisely and knowledge on the subjects he study and even though he was old he gave a firm shake to Etrius.

“ Hello my name is Doctor Romanov, but you probably already know that. Anyway I am going to be your head researcher, “ Dr.Romanov said in deep voice as he handed Etrius what looked to be a small headset. “ Keep this with you, when you are sent to the new dimension I want you to describe everything to me. Also if you come across any paranormal phenomena I can assist you, “ Dr.Romanov said with assurance he he took his place behind the General.

“ Trust me I’m just brimming with confidence......”

only an unnamed reasearch group was sent. No other main character is there.

No the Doctor is at the base.

Eons Ago, In a parallel.

The ancients, an archaic humanoid race who were fighting a brutal and seemingly endless inter species war.

Many warring Ancient Fractions were slowly discovered a psychic force springing up within many of their army units; The power to read minds and manipulate the brain.

Little is known of their mysterious power.

Out of foolishness and greed of the ancient's, some fractions stretched their power to their very limits, spawning the Evils. Darkness and unspeakable evils were spread among the stars, and even parallel dimensions....

unspeakable monsters, brainless swarm of zombies and beings of pure evil were unleashed upon the Ancients home world.

The Evils gained such terrifying powers, that the ancient fractions formed a tense alliance and bound together to face their demonic foe.

The ancients loses were devastating.

Untold numbers of ancient were massacred by the enemy, genocide on a species wide scale.

Before total extermination the wisest and most powerful ancient psychic, The Wise One, vowed their powers must be kept safe from the Evils. Lest the universe collapse under a wave of pure chaos and so he used the last of his energy to seal the psychic powers in one of three ancient stone fortresses.

The Castles

During the Wise Ones gruesome last stand, h wrathfully cursed all Evils, living and undead and in limbo to be eternally bound to guard the castle against any intruder.

Two books with their true purpose yet unclear were hidden in the Castles, as the third and most important castle held the fabled power of the ancients.

The Books sat in dust and darkness circled by their undead guardians.....undisturbed.........Until Now.

Today in the Year 2035 the World has being engulfed in a brutal resource war after the Earth’s supply of oil reached critically low levels. The last resources are being fought over everyday and it isn’t long before the world is torn asunder by the threat of nuclear weapons. The U.S government has figured out a way to create parallel dimensional vortex’s that they have used to try to find new resources. Instead they found the Castles and from their the story beings as they try to test what this new world holds.

The darken atmosphere of the roomer matched the color of smog that had formed in fragmented smoke along the military base. The soldiers were tensed with all the testing going around a rumors of boogie men in new dimensions. For about 4 weeks now the U.S military has been testing out new ways to send people and object thru the Tran dimensional vortex inducer. It was basically this big gate outside the base near the helipad. The outside of the General’s room had great view of testing area where on a good day he would see the scientist performing all sorts of tests outside the device that would be named the “ Dimensional Ripper, “ but recently the scientist had broken through with new theories on how to people through and one day they sent a high tech military helicopter through portal and discovered a new world. They found out the world was near barren save for a few mountains, but recently images of grey fortress have appeared, images of castles in these mountains.

A Research Team have been dispatched to the Castles, but so far none have returned and the General wasn’t pleased because of what has happened and so now he had to fly in one of his best men to brief him on the situation. This is where the series begins……

The General had anticipated the arrival of Etrius. He knew out of all potential candidates for a mission that Etrius was his best hope of getting this damn mission off the ground. He had issued his team to capture and apprehend Etrius in the belief that he wouldn’t go quietly to a another military mission. He smiled with satisfaction as he saw the helicopter land with a cuffed Etrius in place who walked with two heavily armored military personnel guarding him as he walked up the cascading steps. Etrius wore a look of displease on his face as the General merely smirked and relit his cigar. Within a few seconds Etrius was lead in the General’s chambers. The General met Etrius with a smile while Etrius scowled at the look as if it was mocking him.

“ Ah, long time no see, “ The General said with open arms, “ I didn’t expect you to be so easily apprehended by my personnel. “

“ Heh your hilarious you know that? “ Etrius said with a low voice as he only made eye contact for a second or two, “ You sent an entire goddamn platoon of men after me and stop pretending you don’t realize I can break these damn things as easy as your neck? “ Etrius said as he referred to the cuffs around his arms. The General restrained a chuckle as he continued.

“ Yes but it was to see if you would cooperate or not, retirement make you soft or something? “ The General asked in a half joking half serious kind of way.

“…….What do want? “ Etrius said as he looked away.

“Ha! Same old Etrius straight to business, okay I’ll level. I’ve been having some problems Etrius….ever since you left I haven’t had a single reliable man for those missions your notorious for…you are the only man for this one, “ The General said with a complete straight face.

“ You know I’m retired I don’t do this anymore, “ Etrius said not stopping to break eye contact with the general.

“ You don’t have much of a choice in this one Etrius, “ the General replied coldly.

“ Believe me I do, “ Etrius responded with a rather cold look as the General slide back in his chair slightly

“ You’re the only man on Earth who could possibly accomplish this kind of task, “

“ This shit again? “

“ I’m serious as always……Do you believe in different dimensions? “ The General quested as Etrius merely replied with a sigh.

“ For a long time theories for a parallel universe have existed. Places where the laws of nature don’t necessarily have to be the same as here. These so called parallel universes are connected to us….no further away then the width of a shadow, without us being able to see them, or go into them, “

“ Someone’s been to crazy town…. “

“ Four months ago, a research team managed, for the first time, to open between two universes, ours and one never seen by us. This newly discovered universe is a dark, deserted world. After four months of exploring a lonely vast, a helicopter pilot spotted what seemed to be…..a Castle. A team of scientist were send in for investigation….none of them were seen again. There is something inside that Castle. Something……evil, “

“ I’m not some goddamn archeologist, stop wasting my time,”

“ Etrius, someone must have built those Castles, an Ancient Culture. We believe they used some sort of a……..power using it as a world resource. Imagine yourself if mankind got it’s hands on that. “ The General said as Etrius could only sigh in response.

“We don’t need to fight about Earth’s last resources, no ones struck oil for decades. The rainforest are nearly gone, and the oceans are flooding cities…Earth is dying……This power resource is are last hope. Currently we are flying in all your old team members plus a few new people to a Strike Force Team. Etrius the fate of the world rest in your hands….” The General concluded as Etrius’s handcuffs were removed from his hands. The sound of crashing metal echoed through the soundless room.
