995148 The Conqueror for the Seventh Drawing Competition: Anna
(even though you were the only one that entered, your drawings are still great)

995148 Thanks for your entries, Anna. The contest is now closed.

995148 The results are in, once again, and the subject is . . .

Lightning!

I personally am really excited for this one (although Lightning Duel would have been pretty cool too). Your job is to draw something involving lightning in the center stage, or at least as a major part of your picture. All techniques and materials outside of digital are allowed, follow the usual content rules (no suggestive, graphically violent gore, etc.) and beware of a blurry picture.

You have until Saturday, the 18th, to enter your pics. Any amount of entries are allowed. Ready? Begin!

995148 Any position you like, Kylee, as long as it's obvious that they were or are reading.
Mar 23, 2020 07:46AM

995148 Another contest upon us, this time a subject that is both unusual and familiar: Reading!

How many of you have actually drawn a person reading? I didn't think so! Anyway, here are the rules:

The picture must be of a person reading, either male or female, reading an ACTUAL BOOK (no Kindles or ebooks) in any sort of position. Sitting, slouching, standing, lying down, whatever. It does not have to be a full-body shot, but you DO obviously have to show their hands and arms, AT LEAST. Logic.

As usual, adhere to the group rules of no suggestive, overly violent, crass themes, etc., but you MAY put words and possibly speech bubbles in your picture! Again, if I see an entry that does not follow the rules, it will not be included in the poll and possibly removed depending on the severity. But I don't think that will happen.

You have from NOW, 3/23, until next Monday, 3/30, to enter your pictures, and any amount of entries are allowed.

Begin!

995148 Until Wednesday the 18th. I updated the GDC#5 thread to convey the information to the general public.
Mar 07, 2020 11:29AM

995148 Well, well, and well . . . Competition #5 is upon us. In celebration of the fifth, I have chosen a special theme:

FACES.

But it's harder than it may seem: I order you to draw a face that I shall choose---a random celebrity or internet person. If you do indeed wish to participate, then please say so in an affirmative manner in Drawing Competition #5 thread, and I'll send you the picture that you shall draw. You have until Wednesday---the 11th---to alert me.
After the drawing period closes, I'll judge the picture based on how close it is to the picture, i. e., features, shading, hair, etc. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

Please note that entries that do NOT tie in to a face that I send will not be included in the poll. Also, adhere to all the usual rules of no suggestive, gorey, or sexual themes (since it's only faces, I don't know how you could stick one of those in anyway), and also no speech bubbles or anything. One entry per person, of course, since each entry MUST be a copy of a face that I send.

Thanks to you all for your participation in previous contests, and to those in advance who participate in this one.

UPDATE: the alert time is over, and, starting today, the 12th of March, you have until the 18th, next Wednesday, to put your drawings in.

995148 No, that sounds fine---go ahead. Just be aware of the rules if you enter it, right? Or you can just post it, but not for the contest.

I suppose you can since demons are sometimes portrayed as just magical creatures in fiction, but please be careful how you draw it. Since this is a Christian group, Satanic art would be against the rules.
But you may or may not wait until another contest is up if you're entering it: making a cyborg demon may be tricky (or nigh impossible, since a cyborg is "part robot, part human" according to the requirements I set out).

995148 Welcome, all and one, to the FOURTH semi-semi-annual Graphical Drawing Competition! After a long and strenuous poll of which a certain Fire Drake forgot to check on time, they've finally hauled their rear into action! And the subject shall be . . .

Cyborg!

Surprised? Me too.

Anyway, the rules. Your character must be a cyborg---in other words, part robot, part human. This can mean whatever you want, really, just so long as they have some sort of artificial and clearly electronic and sci-fi body part. Could be futuristic sci-fi, urban sci-fi, steampunk, whichever. Just make them have a robot part---limb, torso, patch, anything. I warn you, though, the more obvious their robotic part is, the better chance they have of being included in the poll! You draw whatever view you want of your character---shoulders up, waist up, knees up, full body shot---as long as---and I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH---they have clear robotic parts.

As usual, adhere to the group rules of limiting sexuality, gore, and all that, no speech bubbles, words, or anything of the usual kind of restrictions. You all are pretty good by now about following the rules. And, if I deem an entry not following the rules or meeting the artistic requirements, that picture will not be included in the poll.

The contest starts NOW on the 24th and ends next Monday on the 2nd of March. Any amount of entries per person are allowed. Post the link or alert to your entries in this thread.
