I've read it before and I thought it was time to do it again. With the release of Mr. Corporate I have tons of questions and absolutely no answers so I thought I'd go back to a book that really stood out. And there are a few things that had me questioning if it was possible to tie the Misters into this series beyond Match. Ignore me. I'm grasping at straws over here.

On to the new review. My first review is linke I've read it before and I thought it was time to do it again. "It's just a fantasy."

On to the new review. My first review is linked back to another format so you can find that if you really want, but it isn't necessary. I'm going to write this based on my feelings now.

One girl.
Two friends.
Three soulmates.

That's the premise for the story and it remains a theme throughout. For those audiobook snobs or newbs or whatever, if you haven't listened to Sebastian York, this would be a good time to start. He's fantastic as Ark. Which brings me back to Ark. Oh, that man. He is complicated, smart, gorgeous, deep, complex, controlling, alpha, and everything you should probably run from in a man. Given the fact that Blue is already on the run, this isn't a huge deal. In fact, she clings to him. Him and JD. They become inseparable almost immediately.

She is not one lost girl.
We are not two best friends.
We are one trinity of perfection.

And boy is it perfection. Fuck. I can't even believe that I read this story almost a year ago. I still felt everything these characters felt. I felt Blue's need to be dominated. I felt Ark's need to control. I felt JD's pain over his past. And I just felt so much. Hot is what I really felt. Hot and turned on. Because I'm pretty sure only Huss can deliver scenes like these:

I lean in and kiss him on the lips.
...He tastes like pussy, and my tongue can't get enough of it. My hand falls from his hair, pressing against his throat, squeezing him the way I've seen him squeeze hundreds of girls as they sucked his dick in public.
"Fuck, Ark," he says, pulling out of the kiss.
"Fuck, no?" I ask. "Or fuck, yes?"

"Lick her until she comes all over your face, JD. And then kiss me, motherfucker. And I better taste that come, or I'll stand you in the corner and make you watch me fuck her blind from behind." ...more

Five amazing stars! One of my top reads for this year so far! It will grab you and pull you in until you can't let go!

I love to read. Always have and always will. I read when I can and even when I have to sneak it in. If I love the book, I give it five stars. If it's a good book, it deserves it in my opinion. This book is intense. If you aren't a fan of MFM books, then don't even glance at this book. If you do like MFM, then grab this NOW !

The romance is sweet and dirty and hot. The sex scenes are hot, the arguments are deep, and the characters are all likeable. I want to know these people. I want to find myself a JD and Ark and see how they work. The suspense in this book is more than Huss's other books. This is not a typical JAH story. This book is a little darker than I normally read.

This book is a little sexier/more erotic than I normally read.

This book was beautifully written and drew me in immediately. I was gripped by the characters and their story line.

I'm not going to lie. I was a little nervous about this book, but I love JA's wiring so I had to give it a chance. I'm glad I did.

So, full disclosure, I received an ARC of this book to read and review honestly. I then bought it. So this is a true verified purchase, paid for with my own two hundred ninety nine pennies. Continuing on full disclosure: I'm a fan of JA Huss's books. I seriously adored her Junco series and got hooked on her Rook & Ronin and I love how her series branch off into others that you can read without having to read the starter novels.

Have you read Huss before? If so, you know that there's always a little twist that just *BAM!* smacks you at the end. Fluidly written, brilliantly told, I have yet to be disappointed with a book by JA Huss.

So why not five stars? It's 4.5 for me. I rounded down so you'd look at this and be like, "Huh? But A_TiffyFit ALWAYS love Huss books!" And just because it's 4.5 doesn't mean that I don't love it. I normally would round up, but then you'd just think I'm blowing smoke. So yeah, it should be rounded up, but I'm rounding down. Do I have your attention? :)

If there's one thing that is super cool about this author, she does not want smoke blown up her bum. She appreciates honesty and that's what I'm going to deliver in my review. The beginning of this book didn't do it for me. Don't get me wrong, the sex scenes were hot, but I had a hard time getting into the book at first. I may not have been in the right state of mind for reading it, etc., but largely it just didn't ping me until 1/3 of the way in. By then, those hooks were well into my skin and I couldn't put the book down. She's pretty sneaky like that. You suddenly have all these questions as you're reading about why a character is reacting that way, what this person's deal is, why the hell is she not just out and out telling you what you need to know?! And then...you're glued to your kindle and snarling at anyone who interrupts your reading. Mental note: stop reading at break time during work because you just don't have enough time to finish.

Why would I continue reading if I didn't connect until 30%? Because I know this author and I know how she weaves stories. And seriously...even throughout those sex scenes you are getting a story. You're getting glimpses of personalities of characters, hints at background story, the way it builds is pretty thorough and amazing.

Dark Suspense is a dead on description of this book. It's not just the pervy porn world it opens with. It's not just one girl's story of what she got caught up with. It's a wide story that touches on a really effed up, seedy, dark world that we skim over in the newspaper, that headlines barely touch, because who wants to admit that there are human beings out there like those that could live right next door to us? I really loved the outcome of this novel. I did. It is a perfect ending for me and beginning for them.

Thanks, Julie, for making me think about the scary sheeit that's out there and how the hell these people survive such horror. Thanks for a really well-woven story that kept me punching my kindle. Now, um, when is Merc's story again? ...more
