So when writing reviews of books that rocked your world, the inevitable phrases come up: page-turner, un-put-downable, roller coaster of emotions, twists and turns, fast-paced, etc.

This review would sound no different. And as always, I try to keep my reviews spoiler free, so here goes to the best of my ability!

Holy motherfucking shit what did I just read?! Oh, right, I read a Huss novel. I knew she'd blow my mind, but damn. I didn't see it happening like this. Where is the 6-star option?!

I don't know how to do this book justice. What can I say? I love Rock. His story is both hot and heartbreaking. It's a complete mindfuck of a book.

It's no secret that I am a huge J.A. Huss fan. I gush anytime I read her books. She has never once disappointed me. She is hands down the queen of twists and turns and all things dark. You never see it coming and then you are left reeling in shock needing some time (or days) to digest it all!

Rock was no different. Right from the beginning I was drawn in, trying to understand what was happening, and every time I had an “aha” moment, a new twist or turn appeared. Rock was no different. Right from the beginning I was drawn in, trying to understand what was happening, and every time I had an “aha” moment, a new twist or turn appeared. I could not put this down and just wanted to devour it.

When we meet Rowan Kyle (RK) Saber, to his friends, Rock to the world, he is a man so lost, you can’t help but wonder how he has made it this far. The world loves him and his band, Son of Jack. He was at the top of his game with his whole future ahead of him. And now he is being forced to return to the home he never wanted to see again and the town he wanted to forgot and could not leave behind him quick enough.

Years ago tragedy drove him away and right into stardom and he never looked back once. Now another tragedy brings forces him back home, the last place he wants to be. He is forced to confront everyone he left behind and the tragedy that drove him away. The ghosts from years past and ghost from recent events are catching up to him and there is no place to run now.

And now he is being watched 24/7, is losing time and secrets lurk everywhere. What happened that night years ago and what happened recently that forced him to come home. What is real? Who is trustworthy? The twists and turns will keep you captivated until the very end.

I loved every minute of this story. Every single minute. Rock was captivating. He was so lost and broken, you just wanted to take him in your arms and comfort him. I loved that the story just jumped right in with no explanation and slowly, details are revealed. It fills you with so many questions and the suspense continues to build as you read on.

The female lead may not have been one of my favorites, but she was not afraid of Rock or who he became while he was away. She stood toe to toe to him and forced him to see what was right in front of him.

Overall this story worked for me and kept me so mesmerized, I could not stop reading. I would very highly recommend this book. It is a standalone novel and so worth the ride.

Edge of your seat, toe curling, book action! This book won't let you put this book down until you read it all, and then you will still want more. The book is good, the characters are great, and the romance is sexy. JA Huss has a completely different way about doing this book, and that just made me want more. Five stars! ...more
