Reaper's Fire (Reapers MC, #6) in C.D.'s Canaries

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. We were introduced to Gage and his potential love interest Tinker in the previous book with Painter. Gage was tasked with an undercover job to infiltrate the rival MC club, Nighthawk. You would have thought only the law enforcement will resort to this kind of tactic.

Anyway, going in I already knew Gage was using his magic dick on Talia, who is the Nighthawk President's sister. Thus, having to read about him whoring himself out for his club is a foregone conclusion and I don't even mind. But wha We were introduced to Gage and his potential love interest Tinker in the previous book with Painter. Gage was tasked with an undercover job to infiltrate the rival MC club, Nighthawk. You would have thought only the law enforcement will resort to this kind of tactic.

Anyway, going in I already knew Gage was using his magic dick on Talia, who is the Nighthawk President's sister. Thus, having to read about him whoring himself out for his club is a foregone conclusion and I don't even mind. But what irked me was that his so-called relationship with Talia lasted too long, way passed the half mark, which lead to less time being together with the actual heroine. I don't want to enter into slut-shaming zone, but Talia is not a girl you will sympathize with. And with her wild and crazy nature, I was surprised she didn't ditched his ass sooner.

As for the heroine Tinker, who is in the midst of a messy divorced, is an owner of a small business, while taking care of her ailing dad. I supposed Tinker is quite alright, she hired Gage as a handyman and spent most of her time lusting after him. I don't blame the woman, since she is not seeing any action for sometime.

As for Gage and Tinker, due to Gage being Talia's boyfriend, they can't do much beside of lusting each other secretly. All this simmering sexual tension was then dragged on for too long, as per reason aforementioned.

When Gage finally free to pursue Tinker, I kind of lost hope in them. He didn't actually gave Tinker a good reason for banging Talia for so long and now coming on to her saying he wanted to claim her. Being really hot and gorgeous can't be that strong a reason. Being an undercover for a MC club? That sounds kind of messed up and complicated. I have a rare moment of wickedness that I wish Tinker actually went out and sleep with someone else instead of making it look as if she is waiting for Gage.

I don't want to talk much on the problem on Nighthawk and what the Reaper been up to. I was only happy enough that Hunter showed up for a few scenes. Overall, Reaper's Fire didn't manage to fire me up. ...more

I'm hooked on the Reapers. Joanna Wylde's MC club series was one of the first "MC club" books I read when I was introduced to the genre. And once again, JW provides a sexy and sometimes scary view into the outlaw world. Reapers Fire is different in that there's a personal element addressing the heartbreaking impact of wildfires upon a community. You really must read the "Author's Note" at the end of the book to understand Wylde's reason for using this as a backdrop to the story. But, at the hear I'm hooked on the Reapers. But, at the heart of it is the connection between Gage and Tinker, a woman who has captured his interest and for the first time leaves Gage feeling a new sense of possessiveness.

When they meet, Tinker is back in Hallies Falls having left her husband and is now taking care of her father and growing her business. The attraction is immediate but Gage is living a lie. And this lie is the main story line. Everything about Gages "assignment" in Hallies Falls screams drama.
To worm his way into the Nighthawks club house, Gage takes a new identity and starts up a hook-up with the club Presidents crazy sister Talia. This girl is scary and every scene with her made me cringe. Wylde has a way with creating an anxiety inducing story lines and expertly weaves in situations and activities that leave the reader anticipating bad things...really bad things! She doesn't shy away from the hard realities of illegal activities in an MC club.

Tinker is probably one of my favorite JW heroines. The love she feels for her family and friends makes her endearing and she's strong and sensible. Gage is...a bit dangerous. The draw she feels is mostly pheromones, but over time, his real self can't help but show through his act. For the most part, Gage is likeable. He's a bit cocky but his confidence is well earned. However, there is "claiming" a woman, and there's "taking" a woman, and he runs perilously close to crossing the line with her. She's no pusher-over and when things go sideway, she's smart to push back. His devotion to the club "Reaper forever, forever Reapers" is admirable but this plan is just insane and only drives a wedge between them.The wedge being Talia Jackson. Ugh, Talia...She lives a scary reality. To say she's utterly despicable is probably too nice. She's a $hit stirrer of epic proportions and everything she does left me squirming. And her brother Marsh is a nightmare and I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of them.

The story is well paced and completely held my attention. Although life got in the way and I couldn't read it in one sitting, it was the type of book where I reluctantly put down for the night and anticipated picking it up the next chance I had. If you've been reading the series this is a must read and if you haven't started the series, get to it. 4.5 stars and recommendation!

While undercover, Gage finds himself drawn to a gorgeous woman, Tinker. The trouble is his mission, and the girlfriend he needs to get into the MC chapter. Not a great way to start a relationship, right?
Tinker is back home, recharging during a divorce and trying to care for her father. She has no time lusting for the mouth watering biker who´s already taken, but she can look all she wants.
When the MC turns out to be a bigger trouble than expected, Gage will have to decide who to save first. Tin ...more

If you have read Reaper's Fall (My Review here) then you have met Tinker already... or rather you have seen a tantalizing Tinker driving her red Mustang. Obviously, you have seen glimpses of Gage... or for the most part of the book Cooper (undercover in Hallies Falls' local MC Nighthawks) in both Reaper's Fall and Reaper's Fire books.

There is quite a lot that happens in this book as we finally get to meet Gage without the crazy and supportive dynamic of Reaper MC family. Instead we get to see the ugly side of corrupt clubs. Loyalties and boundaries are tested as Gage is torn between his duty to the club he has belonged to for most of his life and letting himself fall completely for a woman for the first time ever.

Tinker had a rough go of things having almost reached her desires only for them to be crushed and marrying a total douchebag. Now trying to start over and back in her small town she falls for Cooper. Cooper who is all that her body needs and craves, Cooper who is unattainable up until Cooper turns out to be Gage. There happens quite a lot of hot and cold moments between the two and ooooh my god! does it take forever for them to finally get together. However, we do know things end in HEA as most of the book overlaps with the events of Reaper's Fall.

I have missed all the characters of Reaper family but it was fun getting to know new people and possible stories that have yet to be told... *hint, hint* Joanne.

There is also a third main character in this book and I feel like this character has brought on a certain awareness and realness to the book - Fires that spread throughout Washington State. The devastation they have caused but also brought communities together. I highly encourage for you to read all the way through the end as Ms Wylde includes a little author's note commenting on the fires and how they interwove themselves into the story.

PS... THAT ENDING!!! OMG never have I fought my tears on public transportation while reading a Reaper book quite like during those closing moments. Amazing Job!

I don't know who is next in line for their rocky ride into HEA sunset but I know I need it now... NOW... NOOOOOOW! With all due respect of course tehehehe.

First, I must say that I love, love Reapers MC Series, and Joanna Wylde is fantastic author!
I was so excited about Reaper's Fire.liked what I read,but :D sadly it wasn't like the previous books from the series.
I have read in short time,but the first part of the story it was a little bit dragged, I know that was necessary to know much more about the main characters, but it doesn't mean I liked it, aslo has loose ends, the epilogue was great, but it's not amazing like the previous books fr ...more

Gage gets his girl!

As a long-time Reapers fan, I've been waiting and waiting for this latest installment - it didn't disappoint. Gage and Tinker were terrific, and so deserved to find each other. I particularly enjoyed Tinker's POV...her thoughts and the language used to express them really rang true for me. I would have loved to have had more interaction with the larger Reapers family, but the setting precluded that. One of my favorites in the series - way to go, Joanna Wylde...can't wait for w ...more

Loved Gage and Tinker!

I have to say, as with other the rest of the Reapers' books, with Reaper's Fire I laughed, swooned and cried. Mrs. Wilde has a way with words and the Reapers MC are like my extended family. Hope the story continues!! ...more
