After much consideration and going back and forth, I'm giving this 3.5 stars. Let me first start by saying that I love Whitney G and her books, and I'm extremely happy that she's back! I do have to say that Turbulence kept me hooked for hours and I read it in one sitting so that has to count for something!

What I absolutely loved:

I read Reasonable Doubt by Whitney G. and I loved it so when Turbulence came out I was more than excited to dive into it. Not just that, but this is a little known fact about me: I have a thing for pilots. I can't explain it. Maybe it's the uniform, maybe it's how debonaire they look walking across the airport like they own the place. Men in positions of authority always melt me. It's sort of a pity that there aren't more pilot romances, so when I found out that this book was about a pi 3.5 Stars

I read Reasonable Doubt by Whitney G. and I loved it so when Turbulence came out I was more than excited to dive into it. Not just that, but this is a little known fact about me: I have a thing for pilots. I can't explain it. Maybe it's the uniform, maybe it's how debonaire they look walking across the airport like they own the place. Men in positions of authority always melt me. It's sort of a pity that there aren't more pilot romances, so when I found out that this book was about a pilot I was sold.

And it delivered... for the most part. There is something about Whitney G., a quality to her writing that makes it like crack. It's hard to pin point but it's there. It shines full force in this book, especially in the first half.

Jake Weston is as unapologetic and assholish as you can possibly imagine. That's usually my kryptonyte when it comes to heroes. Whitney has that whole thing nailed down, and if you liked Andrew, you might love Jake. He really is a complete dick to the heroine most of the time though. He's abrasive enough to almost be called sociopathic. My guess is he will be hit or miss with the majority of readers. Most will probably have a hard time not comparing him to Andrew, which is obviously unfair to a degree, but what can you do.

The heroine, Gillian, was likeable enough but she was a bit too doormaty for my taste, especially considering Jake's treatment of her and how she kept coming back for more. Can I blame her? The sex was HOT. Yes, it was repetitive after a while, but for a while there it hit the sweet spot dead on.

Now onto the criticisms. My main issue with this book was the second half. The plot started going a bit haywire. We're talking twist after twist, most of which didn't really work for me. I joked with my fellow sisterhood member, Wil, that it seemed like Whitney basically threw in everything but the kitchen sink. It was OTT and felt convoluted enough to pull me out of the fantasy. Sometimes less is more and there comes a point where it almost feels as though the author is trying too hard to be shocking. Compounded with the constant jumps in the timeline, I started to check out and I don't think ever truly recovered. The lack of epilogue made the last 10% in particular feel way too rushed. Don't cheat me out of an emotionally satisfying ending.

Having said that, I really do believe Whitney fans should check this book out. She's someone I feel has a fresh, kickass voice that just OOZES personality. I'll take one crazy author like her over ten boring ones. She's a rockstar and I will read any books she puts out. It's going to be a while before she jades me.

So, the second half didn't work for me. That doesn't mean it won't work for you. Jake is certainly unforgettable and the world needs more pilot romances. Please, authors! Heed the call.

I definitely loved this book! It took me ages to finish it but it was not because of book. I read it every chance I got. I loved every page of it and want more....
Their love, their story, their anomaly is out of this world fantastic!!!!!

I couldn't justify giving this anything higher than a 3-star rating. My reason for that is because Gillian was annoying as fuck.

I lost count of the amount of times she said, 'no more, I'm done with him, my heart hurts too much!' He would then stroll back into her life, shove his dick in her, and all would be forgiven. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

I waited for almost two years to read this book. The original publish date was push back then as Whitney's style without fanfare she released it last year. It was well worth the wait. That's right I am sad ... Sad because this book is done. I'm so happy that you are back Whitney! Please don't ever leave again!!!

What is it about an arsehole-y hero that I cannot resist? So broken you think there is no redemption??? Yet, he can through the love of a great woman.

A man who loves his Mom can't be all bad, right?
